Ive been to one event and knowing this had occurred is disgusting. People these days do not have respect for their fellow man anymore... This is why I have lost hope in humanity. People cannot take a loss and learn from it anymore except for a select few.

There's a lot of different issues being addressed in this thread, and some of them are misplaced. Shit talk about MK9 isn't comparable to people squatting in your room unwanted, or people stealing your shit.
It's comparable in the sense than you can easily take a young kid who's just won his first big tournament, and discourage him from believing in or wanting to be a part of this community. Hopefully he wasn't around to hear it, but:

It's part of the same general problem of selfishness and people not thinking about how their actions affect other people. It's the same issue. I wouldn't want any of the above to happen to me; and I hope that in the future people will take a stand and just say NO to this kind of abject foolishness.

SwiftTomHanks I know we have never met, but this is horrific you could be treated like this. We are MK brothers, and out of principle I would always have your back, nevermind all the phenomenal above and beyond shit you do for this kommunity. It's already been said, but if people are trying to take advantage of you then they are not deserving of your kindness in the least. Next time find a big mother fucker like Rapzilla to kick all their asses out of your room if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself. Any decent person in this kommunity has your back, don't leave because of a couple fucktards when the masses are all supporting you.

Another huge problem I see, besides peoples' blatant douche baggery and disrespect for Swift, is for people like myself. I have never had an opportunity to go to an offline tournament because of money, time, and how goofy life has been for me. Seeing posts like this makes me not want to go tournaments at all. It sounds like I won't even be able to freely play MK9 with solid competition, as all my time will be spent trying to help fix cluster fucks like this. And yes, I would feel obligated to help and genuinely want to just to ease the stress on everyone else.

Lastly, Kevo's actions surprise me. Kevo was one of the people who taught me how to play Reptile, and whenever he played me he was very funny, laid back, and always complimented and supported me. I hope he learns from this and never does it again, as we need to stick together.

Mr. Mileena said it best... We are a family. Time to act like it.

Probably not the #1 thread to post this in, but since he's already been mentioned and I've been following this thread like a hawk, I'll just post it here:

In regards to Sawnik Fox, I don't know if it's already been mentioned but I just noticed that he also took 2nd at the VF 5 tourney at ECT AND I think placed within the Top 5 of SCV!

People need to get used to him being around for a while, because apparently HE IS NO JOKE! A one-trick pony, he is not... This kid is the real deal.

Quite frankly, you have to call these kind of people out and put them in their place. Make them feel like shit, and if they don't appreciate it, they can just not attend events. Don't let people do this kind of shit. Not trying to be ruthless or assinine, but this can all be stopped by putting a foot down.

I'm sorry to hear this happened to STH, Rapzilla, and anyone else, but we need to keep this from happening in future events. I would suggest posting the names. Not to blow those people up, but to make others aware of their actions so the same does not happen to them. We want to trust everybody, but we just can't, you know? It's really frustrating to hear these things, especially when I think of this community as one I love dearly.

Sometimes you have to tell people how it is. Everyone has the power to stop shit like this, it's just hard to do it. In the long run, do not let a few poor members of the community dictate your stance on the whole community. This thread alone shows how disappointed the a lot of the community is about hearing this news.

I hope to see you all still playing.

This is a sad thread :(

I have been fortunate that I've never had any problems like this in any MK tournaments I went to. I would just advise to only travel and room with people you know you can trust, or at the very least you know that they have money, lol.

SwiftTomHanks, I think the last dozen pages proves a point..........

The general MK community consists of genuine people who don't want to see you upset or leave.

Everyone is trying (to their best ability) to rectify the situation and patch what other individuals ruined. This thread is filled with lots of positive feedback / offers of reimbursements because we don't want to see a few bad apples ruin the entire bunch.

At the end of the day we're all human; no individual is more important than the other and we all need to give and take to keep things running fairly / smoothly. If you don't have the funds or maturity to coexist amongst others, don't bother attending social events such as tournaments.
