Tekken 7 General Discussion Thread - OP Updated With All Tekken Info

Do you you think it will run on a i5-2500 non k? My new build won't be ready for a couple more weeks and I wanna play day 1. I need to ask cuz the 2500 does not handle new games well I get crazy frame drops with 100% cpu usage. And it's not worth bothering if I can't get stable 60fps.
I almost 100% sure you gonna be fine with that i5. Althou as you know it's not the newest version (quite old in fact) it will do just fine in Tekken. Much more here - like in many modern games depends on GPU. Althou really Tekken 7 isn't that much demanding in either CPU or GPU department. Unless you want to go crazy like me 4K and everything to max but still even then - one GTX 1080 should do just fine (im rocking 2 Titans XP but this game doesn't support SLI).

I almost 100% sure you gonna be fine with that i5. Althou as you know it's not the newest version (quite old in fact) it will do just fine in Tekken. Unless you want to go crazy like me 4K and everything to max but still even then - one GTX 1080 should do just fine (im rocking 2 Titans XP but this game doesn't support SLI).
I can play a ton of games with it still but some new games like Prey, Deus Ex, WD2 won't run stable regardless of settings due to the bottleneck. I have a 970 which is not great so I am not worried about that as far as T7 goes. If nothing crazy happens I will have a 7700k and mobo in 3 weeks which is all I need to complete my build.

I forgot to ask also I had heard they nerfed movement in T7 but changed it again in later versions can anyone explain that?

They actually buffed walkback speed and every backdash now has the same range and speed, sidesteps where nerfed in startup in vanilla T7, but in FR they buffed the range you can actually step.

Yep i10 is a 10 frame move and it will punish a -10 move. Most jabs in tekken are i10

TTT2 training mode tells you when something lands as a punish. There are a few moves that transition into stances that when punished, no red "punish" text is is shown on the screen.

You can't look at the frame data and punish something just once then move on to the next move or string when labbing characters. Some moves have pushback and depending on the range they were executed at, you can either punish them or your punish will whiff. Some punishers require precise inputs as well and simply cannot be mashed during blockstun. Some notable examples of moves that are hard to, but important to punish are Heihachi's fF2 and Paul's deathfist (qcf2).

There is a rule book, might as well break it down to you.

Punishable moves starts at -10 and goes higher, so anything under this is safe with the exception of Yoshimitsu and pushback moves with similar frame data that can only be punished if there is a situational event like no pushback because you blocked while you were at the wall.

-10: 10f jabs, since AKuma is in the game, if he has meter he can cancel into DPs for a 10f launch, its going to be glorious.
-11: ws4 , some characters have it others don't.
-12: almost every character has a 12f mid of some sort, its different for each character
-13: This is also a mid, with a few characters being able to launch at -13, Kazuya with ws1,2 and his mist step EWGF which is 13f
-14 - Mishimas can launch it with eletrics including kazuya and Jin, a few characters have ws2 that its i14 as a launcher
-15: Almost the entire cast has i15 launchers, so at this point towards everything is launch punishable in the game.

How do you punish with a ws move? I imagine it takes frames to go to couch and then input the move. Or are there ws and normal moves to punish the same thing?

Ws moves are mostly to punish blocked lows, for example Kazuya has ws12 being i13 but he has a eletric with a short inputted motion excatly i13 as well, so you would want to punish hop kicks with that if you have execution and balls for it, while no one would dare to hit lows on you since he can punish them.

So many characters can or not have acess to certains moves with the same frame data standing or while rising, like jin having ws2 and EWHF at i14, and no one actually has a i11 move standing either as far as i can tell.

But yeah, @buyacushun the above guy is right. There are also a small number of mid attacks that force crouching on block where WS punishers may become relevant, but on the whole punishing high/mid attacks vs punishing low attacks is a completely different game.

Jin its i13, and Paul has the fastest homing at i12, not sure if anyone has a high that fast tho.

True, not all magic 4s are 11 frames. Those with 11-frame 4s include Nina, Asuka, Lee and Law.

In all honesty I was nitpicking a little, but at least in Asuka's case it actually make a significant practical difference given how notoriously poor her -10 punishment is lol.

Confirmed with combot, it checks out, i think i've learned a bit more about tekken today, something to add to my notes.

we'll see, there are rumors that Angola Satellite launch will improve internet and is scheduled for a few months towards.

You will probably body me like hell, besides the knowledge i gather for this game, i'm a total trash on it, i dunno many moves, and might end up getting hit by anything, my defense is so shitty anyway that at the top8 from CB17 i was actually taking notes on how JDCR uses movement, all in sake of being good.

So i have a long way to go, i mean, when i manage to combine my knowledge with my experience in this game, then i will actually be gud.

In regards to frame data in game, I think it should be there only if it's accurate and kept up to date. If it isn't regularly updated (which sounds silly. Why wouldn't you update the data with each new patch?) it's useless, and it might as well not be there at all.

I spent a lot of time with Lee in the Tag 2 lab yesterday. I went over all (102? I think it's 102) moves including all of his sample combos. I'm going to try out Leo next, and I'm leaning towards playing her first, because the execution barrier won't be as high, and I'll be able to learn easier.

I can't wait for my new stick. My old one is beat to hell and I can give you an example = while trying to do Lee's D, DB3, (a huge launching kick) while facing left (P2 side), I had to do the inputs cleanly. But when I was facing right with Lee, it was like I didn't have to input Down at all. All I had to do was hit Down-Back and the stick would input Down and then Down-back quickly anyway.

In other words, I'm getting a down input where none should be, and if I'm going to ramp up learning back dash cancels, this thing has GOT to go.
