NRS damage scaling is never correct. Not till month 2 anyways. No reason to get used to that 42%. Its part of a "super" extension. Boon said there is a combination of buttons that can make the supers do more damage before the animation is over. This was my problem with the fist game. Completely unbalanced. Why add a feature like that??? smh
It's probably because once you've seen the Super so many times it becomes boring to wait for the cut-scene to finish. The button inputs for extra damage give the aggressor something to do and the victim something to pay attention to. If the aggressor misses some damage you may be able to survive an otherwise deadly situation.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 also has a similar mechanic during certain Hyper Moves. Here's an example...

So. Let's discuss Supergirl shall we. So for after the Beta update I find Superior to be high addicting but also a certain subtly to her movements.

So far a mostly loaded Supergirl with gear and abilities is very very good. AirHeatVision is an overhead and creates guaranteed chip damage and completely forgos wakeups, anyone not blocking or blocking low after a f23 ender is taking the beam full on.

Enhanced Kryptonian Force. My God this ender is amazing. She grabs the opponent before dragging them along the ground for INSANE corner carry. It's absolutely stunning.

Though these moves are ability modifiers I wouldn't mind seeing Compettive Play having the option for players to choose an ability upgrade. Of course they would be normalized but it adds a new mechanic to the game. I honestly love AirHeatVision more then the original LaserWalk..if this move could stay as a main part of her arsenal I'd call her nearly complete.

Now for her gaps, f23 is unviable against Batman. Period. You may catch others off guard but parry-characters (Batman and Black Canary so far) will react on sight for a parry punish. Be careful.

D2. Gawddamn D2. Anyone Maining Supergirl and is on the beta can agree that d2 is fucking amazing. 7 frames, special cancelable, death on block. After a b12 laser you can time a d2 into up laser into f23 with near flawless execution. If gear is on you'll have enough time to build full trait back so you can end your last f23 into AirHeatVision. Adding a ton of free chip, full damage if they don't block high and so far it's safe. All from a d2. This move is a Jump in killer. You can literally take your combo.options ANYWHERE after a d2 blowup. Save meter and go for corner carry. Go for full damage into a setup, Etc, etc.

Supergirl is a very versatile character with a few exploitable gaps but with the ability to unleash offense sequences that wear the enemy out.

Teleport. Counter zoning and fake oki setups. Ji1, float, ji1, Ex teleport. Triple launching overhead. You can condition your enemy with ji1, ji1, d1-laser/frost breath. When your feeling saggy try the overhead teleport while still airborne. Catching some off guard.

So tell me about your setups and weird little details about Superbae. We're in this together my friends. Let's make this character a true God.

Lets be real for a second here, Supergirl is leagues better than everyone else in the beta as far as tools go.
Sure, she might not have Superman's damage, but NRS gave her everything but the kitchen sink so as long as she is played well she is always crazy.

She could outzone everyone for free.
Her counter zoning is the best in the game.
Her +frame pressure is absolutely ridiculous.
Her air dash is amazing.
Her strings + lasers make her a footsie monster.

But better than all that is her D1... it's a fking low...

So not only does she have great far reaching strings and good opportunities to open people but consistently, but the gift of better back walk speed in Injustice 2 is dangerous against a character who's fastest move catches holding back. AND SHE COULD FULL COMBO FROM IT.

I've been saying that a proper nerf for her is giving her the ability to just use 2 lasers as her trait before it needs refreshing but even if they did that, I can almost assure you that this character will always be a contender because her toolset is just crazy.

Still dumb, overhead teleport is just stupid
its not that bad its very punishable, reactable, and costs a bar to do. its a low slower than scorpions in injustice 1 and not meterless and safe like martians lol

also am i the only one who doesnt think she's the best? especially in beta 2. shes very good but superman can still 1 touch kill you lol

She's not broken.

But don't underestimate the combination of all her tools even if they aren't inescapable. She dictates the pace of the battle if she just walks backward the entire game. It's her control that makes her the best imo. You have to take major risks walking at her and entering her footsie range while she holds all the cards. I could already predict that some characters are only going to have very limited options to get in on her outside of jumping and dashing in.

Chun Li in SF5 season1 had tons of gaps in her pressure, but what made her unquestionably the best in the game and on a tier of her own by most top players in the world, was the fact that she dictated the pace of the match from all ranges. If she was in mid range you had to battle to get close and when you got close you were still going to play her game because of her amazingly fast and good normals.

Chun Li in SF5 season1 is actually a fantastic way of explaining why Supergirl is amazing atm.
Lets get this straight, she isn't broken in anyway that is game breaking like other former amazing NRS characters. She could still be beaten.
But at the highest level, in this more honest game and in the right hands, Supergirl will literally be dominate just like Chun Li was.
They ended up nerfing Chun in season2 and the top players that use her are still doing incredible. I feel like slight nerfs to not just Supergirl's lasers will be positive for the game's future in the long run. I just don't want to see 4 Supergirl's in the game's first EVO.

Yes but you are justifying a property of a move by comparing it to something much more broken. Is Chicago's gun crime not a problem because Detroit is worse?

I can't compare those two because I don't have adequate knowledge of sfv as You probably do. But honestly getting in on supergirl isnt that hard. If you are having trouble with her good luck against deadshot. Her lasers are limited. They are fast and recover insanely fast but if you walk her to the corner which I've done pretty well against good supergirls you can take control. She can't just sit there and walk back all game she'll eventually have to hit you and when she does she will do like 24% for a bar more often than not at least mid screen barring she doesn't use ex teleport as an opener. Not once did I feel helpless against dragon,tak,gazer, or any other good supergirl out there. Playing against her as atro,bat,super is party town because once they touch her once half her life is gone so if she sits fullscreen while at that disadvantage then jokes on her because you can just suck the lasers and punish any teleport on reaction

If you actually read my posts instead of going on a witch hunt for anybody that dares to point out the problems with super girl you would see that I said it's not reactable online. It's not that getting in on her is hard, it's that she is controlling the pace better than a projectile character can because of the combination of her D1, lasers, and far reaching normals.

A good Supergirl isn't walking herself into a corner. Why would she? She has a greater chance of cornering the opponent. She is going to strike as you walk forward and she walks back. She pushes you back once she surprises with her footsie strings into full combos or anything else that pushes back. I predict her winning most if not all matchups vs zoners.

Chun in SF5 season1 was better than Guile who was an actual zoner (she wasn't) but she still was better because she controlled the battle with her tools vs him and others from close up and from mid range with her footsie tools.

It's not that I'm saying that she's good because she is too hard to get in on. I'm saying it's the control. She is the one that is having you walk forward while she decides when she'll attack the opponent and you have to predict when she will and try to bait a normal/laser. It's the combination of all her tools, including the mid/close/anti-zoning tools, that make her dangerous.

It's not that I'm having trouble with Supergirl, I main her atm lol. I'm being 100% honest about her.

I feel like you and others might be interpreting what I'm saying like I'm shouting "broken", so I think I'm just going to stop explaining. We're just talking in circles now.

Batman for example can d2 out of any laser pressure. Then he can parry gaps for free bats setups. His damage off loose hits leads into oki setups and he can parry or d2 teleport on reaction.

I played online it was reactable stop being a Baby also I wouldn't mind but why change something that doesn't need to be changed just to accommodate you stop being a baby
