Discussion ... so who are the Top 5 after all the patching?

I always wanted to start a tierlist-discussion and right now I see my opportunity

Actually some time has passed since the last list, so I'd say (pretty much in this order):

Top 5:
Mileena,
Shinnok,
Johnny Cage,
Scorpion,
Takeda

Contenders:
Sonya, Alien (added by edit), Kotal Kahn, Ferra/Torr, Kano, Liu Kang, Dvorah.

You could argue for any of those character you mentioned being top 5 imo, except for Scorpion anyway. You can also add Reptile, Sub and Alien to the list of contenders aswell.

True, I just wouldn't consider him top 5 with Shaolin Kung Jins, CT Kanos, SQ D'vorahs(who i'm sure most people will not leave off their list) out there.

I feel the same about Stunt Double Johnny. Really good, but not quite as good as A List. I could be totally wrong, just my opinion of course.

Konjurer is very good, has anti-wakeup setups as well. Good setups both midscreen and corner which have safe two guaranteed mixups, you can do f4 xx db3, f4 xx bf4, b3 xx db3, b3 xx bf4.DB3 low, BF4 overhead, so it basically guarantees you have to block two safe mixups in a row which lead to 40% meterless into another setup.

And you can use alien's mixups to open the opponent up and f134 mixups and pressure too.
So he's pretty good.

Others are close to top 5 too. I still don't even think about dlc because probably more nerfs are coming, but alien says hi.

Few people speak about Reptile though, and it surprises me...

The multiple variations comment is pretty silly, I still really fail to see how SQ isn't a top 5 contender though. She has no real weaknesses anymore.

If this game had no DLC she would be. Her faster armor doesn't really matter cause it still loses to the same tactics, also more minus on block . Top 10 for sure, just not convinced about top 5
