Just started using her last week. F**** love her playstyle. Using custom loadout of Siphon, Parry, and Bloodport, although likely going to drop the Siphon for the damage buff.
What is the deal with her special move that prevents others from using a special cancel? Anyone get results with that?
Also def agree with others on here saying blood tentacle is far too valuable to give up.

I prob have the most fun using this character out of all 7 characters I've labbed and played.

The Blood Klot makes it to where they can't special cancel after strings, thus making it impossible to extend their combo if they rely on specials for them. I find it's rather useless just from the beta. I doubt it's changed any since then.

Parry and Bloodport are probably her two best abilities that you can slot. The rest are just kinda...there.

Blood Tentacle is way too useful to ever get replaced with anything else, imo.
 
I just noticed that you can parry Scorpions TP aslong as you do it very late (it seems that it wont work vs scorpions tp when it was active before he tps and she has her back towards him).

AA conversions for Skarlet are weak. At most you can probably get a 124~db4 conversion. There's probably more or better ones, but the timing due to the gravity with her combos is absolutely stupid. I don't see any other characters that struggles with this.

Are there any gaps in common rush-down strings that scarlet can throw up parry in? I need to figure out how the hell to be more effective with this parry.

Good question, I was labbing trying to do this vs. Noob's 112 but I don't think there's enough of a GAP there to exploit.

s1, 4, 4~tentacle (far)
Too close (includes crossups):
s1, 212, F2~tentacle( too far)
s2, 1, 2, 4, 4~tentacle (far)

Eddy, I watched your youtube video on Scarlet and spacing and strategy vs Scorpion....went 3-0 against scorpions in ranked sets yesterday. I usually use Noob or Jade, but been working on my scarlet. The second the opposing player picked scorpion I went straight to scarlet. They usually end up yolo meter burning teleport on me for an easy 124 punish.
I kept them at that proper space so I could tentacle when they speared. Worked like a charm. Finally made those scorpion players clueless like I've been against them when I use Noob.

So... What are you guys doing after landing F43? I usually use 44 - slow blood ball and stagger pressure, are there better alternatives? Sometimes I chip out with 124 tentacle at the end of a round, but I don’t really do anything else lol

start using throws to make them duck and poke out, if they failed to tech now you have two KB ready to activate
the KB throw and the B1, 2 which at +15 you can use it at will.

So I just picked her up... and I'm just terrible with her.
For some reason I can't decide what her go to button is.. with JC it's either f3 or f4/b3. WIth her it's like.. idk. f4 I guess?
And by the way, how good is her AA game? Is it better to aa with s1 or s2?

Her AA game is pretty good I would say. If you're in the Blood Drive variation and you hit them with practically anything you get a restand. I use S2 for the range online, and because it leads to a more practical AA combo, but S1 can lead to lots of stuff too it's just shorter.

If you're in the other variation, using bf2 Amplified gives you lots of regen too. My go to buttons with her are F2, S2, and B4. I love B4's range because it essentially says "fuck neutral" and her F2 has good range, but there is a gap in the string F2 1.

Other good buttons to have are her D1, F4, and S1.

Would you guys recommend using Boiling Point or Retch-Rebution instead of Cell Siphon for custom variation? I wanted to ditch the teleport because i am barely using it and leave Cell Siphon, but it's not possible because of the conflict.

Both BP and RR do a lot of damage but they are slow and easily punishable so i am not sure.

between those two boiling point because it does more damage and the ex version is +67 on knockdown so its a guaranteed blood ball, teleport etc

cell siphon is good but just not when it leaves them point blank and not against every character. If they're spaced out and they don't have anything fast enough with enough range to interrupt F2 you have options

I can't stop wondering what's the point of Blood Ritual tho. She does more dmg to herself than her opponent... by double. Never saw anyone using this ability. Really not sure why is it included in one of her variations.

I've been able to fit it in but it's situational. It's great to finish someone off that is already at 1.00 health due to last breath saving them (since it bypasses last breath). If you get a db1 or b12 KB late in a match it's also very good to pair with the DOT you get with those KBs. Its startup sucks so really depends on spacing and what your opponents options are. I have a few videos on twitter of me making use of it in real matches but I'd say I've only found good opportunities for it one in every 20-30 matches or so.

I agree that's it's not worth the slot but it's nice when it works out.
