Shooting In CONN At least 20 dead, Ten children

There's no words to describe this...really cruel and heartbreaking.

I can only hope the community comes together in a big way to support each other, that's what everyone needs right now, to be there for each other, no gun debates or anything like that.

Being 100% serious, I'm starting to believe that this whole 12/21 end of the world thing is bringing out the lunatics. This is, what, the 4th public shooting incident/attempt in the past 4 months? And then there's 2 incidents in China involving slashing and axing children.

What the fuck.

nowhere else in the world has the gun problems that the US does. guns are banned in a lot of the world and gun based fatalities in those countries are essentially zero. Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and china all have strict gun laws and gun based deaths are less than any single state in the US on any given year. a gun ban does not increase gun violence, it decreases it.

also to the "guns dont kill people, people kill people" thing, maybe, but not on this scale. by the time a guy chokes or stabs one child to death the other 26 kids already ran the fuck away. why? because most people arent stupid enough to just walk up to someone that's busy murdering someone. also it takes a lot more physical effort to kills someone with a knife than with a gun. odds are someone would get tired well before the 20s even if people were stupid enough just to stand around just in case it's an april fools joke. Finally, anyone can pull a trigger. using a gun is the easiest way to kill and the most depersonalized. if you think guns are good for hunting ask yourself, "self, would i be willing to hunt a deer or birds with just a knife, catch it by surprise, jump it, and slit it's throat?" no. you wouldnt. if you would then by our society's standards you're a barbaric deranged fuck who has no business owning a gun anyway.

that's inevitable. I for one hate saying what has been said immediately before. sure, it's sad this deranged idiot decided to play duck hunt with a real gun and children, but just being sad is meaningless and accomplishes nothing. so what focus do you want? people informed, check, people say it's sad, check, people say what should be done=gun ban discussion, hope the guy is killed, etc

I actually think you're at least right in part.

In a world where very few things shock me anymore this did. A bullet was too slow for this sick bastard. I can't even think of anything else to say.

Now they're saying that one of the shooter's dad, was found dead at home, and one of the victims at the school was the shooter's mom. That's just sick.

why would you thumb down? because you like owning guns? that's entirely absurd. give me one reason why we need them for anything other than killing.
Also, fine Karried you want my non-gun input? Other than people who know any of the victims we will all completely forget about this by christmas. That's my prediction and i'm sticking to it. Is it a sad event? yes, very. are we connected with it enough to actually let it affect us over time? no.

Might as well ban free speech while you're at it. There's no way TV will ever be censored (aside from pornography and obscenity) without an amendment to the constitution.

True that.i wouldn't know what to say really. Everybody is so fast to point the blame on gun laws first and for good reason, but this was probably gonna happen gun or not. The hands of the killer is the only issue. It's at least more humane with bullets then if he use a hickory sluggers bat.
