Okay so people already probably know I'm a 'SJW' because I care about womens' opinions or whatever, and I can see the arguments on both sides, but I personally don't have a huge problem with the character design on R. Mika. Actually as of now I'm 100% planning to main her.
Is it over the top? Definitely, but I think that's kind of the point of the character. She's supposed to be a hyper-sexualized puroresu fighter and her design has existed for a long time and is based in reality costume-wise. I don't think it's Capcom's intent to make her waifu material but rather create a completely off-the-wall character.
What does end up making it weird is that all the female characters have jiggle physics as of now and that's pretty fucking stupid and needlessly fan-servicy if you ask me. People shit on DoA because it's so clearly pandering to neckbeards and tbh I really don't want SF to go further in that direction.
Just to throw this out there,, those of us that don't care for the hyper sexualized look, aren't necessarily offended, we just think its stupid and needless and that our hobby could have grown up a little bit. You can make a sexy female without it being THAT over the top. Its Capcom's style, so *shrug*. I dont feel triggered, or offended, or anything of the sort, its just dumb and could have been handled better.
Now, one thing I WILL give to R.Mika's look, is, its part of her character to a degree or two. Take Makoto for example, her personality wouldn't make sense if she was wearing a string bikini. So she isn't. Sakura is similar, her outfit fits her. Its cute, etc, but its not totally over the top. Cammy... ehhh. Not so much... My point being though, not EVERY female in SF is hyper-sexualized and over the top like Mika. Her personality and her occupation make the costume fairly relevant and fairly believable. I just cant help but hang on to the idea that things can often be done better than they are.
Take Cassie in her default costume as an example, hot, sexy, a bad-ass, fully clothed. Really, MKX did a pretty reasonable job for the most part.
What I find interesting, is when someone says they don't care for it, they get attacked? I didn't attack anyone for liking the look or preferring it over something a little less ridiculous. I just stated that I thought the look was a little ridiculous and I didn't care for it, but there are several people (I only read about 4 pages in) that are attacking myself and others who share a similar opinion. I could read a lot in to that, but really, its not worth my time and its likely not true, just like the silly little jabs at my 'side' are likely not true. I would bet that if you took an age average from the each side you'd notice an interesting difference.
That's not Capcom's "style", most of the women in street fighter aren't very fan-servicey in design. This isn't a part of a trend of theirs. Some women in SF do dress a bit sexier or more ridiculous than others, though you could say the same for real life(and some of the male characters in the games as well).
She, like 90% of SF characters, represents a hyperbolized version of a style of fighting that exists in the real world.
Like how Zangief represents the ridiculously dressed, barely clothed, bright color wearing, sweaty grappling tradition of Pro-Wrestling, R. Mika represents Joshi Puroresu(Japanese female professional wrestling but also female pro-wrestling in general), where it is customary for them to indeed dress and act like that.

It's a very violent and sexy thing, but it's still totally a thing, Capcom didn't just engineer R. Mika out of nothing.
They wanted to make a character from that, and they did exactly that to perfection.
She isn't a sexualized character, her career choice just includes sexy/ridiculous clothing.
It'd be like complaining about a fighting game developer making a serial killer character "gory". There is no "make" in the equation, that type of person is innately that way, they just happened to include them in their game.
Therefore the complaint shouldn't be them sexualizing this character, it should be them putting a sexy character in the game.
Cassie is dressed for the type of job she does, the exact same a Mika.
A Joshie Puroresu girl running around in conservative and constricting clothing would be about as dumb as what they did to Sonya in MK9.

I can understand people not liking the way female wrestlers are and how they usually present themselves, and because of it not liking the look of R.Mika, just like I can understand how many people don't like big muscly wrestlers with huge bulges and in turn disliking Zangief.
However, saying it as if Capcom made those characters in an unrealistic or inaccurate fashion is completely untrue.
