When I was leaving Fugee said that they are going to use cab from now on since we know pads work. They are going to wire more pads to additional machines and we're going to work on a way to directly stream video from the board. Other tournaments will probably still use mame unless some portable setups are made, but there is no better input response than directly wiring sticks or pads to an arcade board. I also asked Fugee to make sure that all the wiring buttons and sticks on whatever machines are used for tournaments are 100% identical. I'm going to look into ways to get other pad options available. This would basically turn into emulating controllers by using the hardware and modifying the input.
Well, as far as the tournament goes, I had a blast. Amazing turnout of over 32 players, which was a goal for this year. Got to see some old faces, a lot of new ones, and finally got to meet Konqrr.
We drove out from NJ on Friday, the group consisting of me, Summoning, 9.95, AC1984, and REO, along with Smmoning's brother-in-law Voy. The trip took around 10 hours including stops and there was much of an enjoyable time there. We showed up at the venue and went over some things with the pads on the cab, got in a few casuals on the cab, and went back to the hotel for more casuals on mame.
I'll make my shoutouts as soon as I can make a list of the players, probably later tonight.
