theres gotta be another mk4-7 character, because of the "more than zero" leak. i dont think its shinnok, because the "5" seem covered and he got beaten in the netherrealm war. the trailer shows him getting trapped.
we have seen reiko and fujin in the Comics, with reiko being pretty important. tanya has not appeared yet, but boon tweeted ages ago (before mkx announcement) that she would be a character hed rather bring back than some others. also theres not many females so far. but then, fujin was highly requested as mk9 dlc.

Could they not just be in the story and you may have to fight against them? Or maybe they are ladder opponents to keep them in the game?

It just doesn't make sense to me to have all of them in when you also have their kids. Idk lol

Personally I think they will just be alternate costumes for their respective siblings...so in Cassie Cage's case...she will prolly have a johnny and sonya alt. Jaqui will have a jax alt. Kenshi's son will have a kenshi alt. there ya go. I also predict Kitana to have a jade costume of sorts.

Regardless though.I almost don't think it matters who they reveal next because everyone always plays as Sub, Scorp, Kitana, Mileena, Kung Lao, Raiden and Reptile. Cage, Sonya, Kano, and Baraka have always been off and on. I'm mostly just surprised there is no Smoke or hint at him being present since in every game he is in he is always super popular if not more so than Subzero and Scopion.

I was about to shit on this thread for being the 137,876th of its type...but I guess there's not much left to discuss, so here goes.

The obvious reveals were:

Takeda
Jacqui Briggs
Kung Jin

The characters that absolutely have a spot but weren't shown in-game:

Mileena (with her place in the story and popularity, there's no way she's not playable)
Shinnok (he was completely redesigned and featured at the end of MK9 so he's in and most likely playable)
Erron Black (way too cool of a character to not make the cut)

Characters that are most likely in, even though they may seem redundant:

Johnny Cage (Raiden's champion, big part of the story, redesigned look in the comics)
Sonya (see Johnny)
Jax (fucking awesome, I also think Jacqui will play completely differently)

Characters you may be surprised to see:

Reiko (major player in the comics, also badass)
Liu Kang (he's Liu Kang....and unfortunately, he's probably got zero chance of not making the cut)

As far as DLC goes, if we are only talking about 4 characters (which I'd bet my life on there being more), I'd go with:

Tremor (this is a character many have wanted forever)
Cyrax/Sektor/Smoke (all 3 in one character, all set as variations)
Spawn (pretty much confirmed)
Predator (see Spawn)

There was that whole thing about a gray ninja being tossed around by Kotal in his variation circles. But that's all I've seen anyway. It's unfortunate b/c smoke is a cool ass character.

Not only that, if you look closely you see that in the prequel comic, Reiko has gauntlets that cover his forearms, and a seal on his chest. So does that ''Jax'' picture that most are already convinced about.

Its obvious that 4 of the 5 playable characters Boon meant are:

Jacqui
Takeda
Kung Jin
Mileena

But who is number 5?

There are a bunch of characters spotted in the trailer who could be playable so i think Boon meant with "5 confirmed"
characters who were clearly highlighted in the trailer and people like Johnny and Erron arent highlighted but still possible playable.

I think the 5th is either Shinnok or Li Mei.
These 2 were the most highlighted of all the new revealed characters.

Most likely Shinnok is #5 but damn i want Li Mei so bad.

The remaining 3 will be harder. Between rumors (Bo Rai Cho and his son Ro Tan Cho) and characters from the trailer (Sindel, Shinnok)...who knows. I'm hoping Bo Rai Cho shows up though.

I agree that Smoke is a badass character, but I'm having trouble envisioning his three seperate variations, assuming that they wouldn't take the Reptile route and just add one lame interchangeable move to each one. They would have to add some new elements to the character (which I would be excited to see).
