Yea dude the only sorta real arcade around here is Dave and Busters... and When I go I play freakin' Galaga LOL. Used to be MK/SF machines at every pizza place, bowling alley, and arcade.

There MK3 machine up and working right now? Is there people there playing and friendly comp down there on the weekends? I'm thinking about driving down this weeked to check it out and see how bad my stick skills are at the moment.... last stick I used was the DoA4 stick for the 360 on SF2 HF, and its pretty shitty.

EDIT: Busta anywhere on LI have an UMK3 machine? Where on LI are you located? I'm in suffolk county, sayville.

The Break has a couple MvC2 machines, CvS2, SFA3, SF3 3S, one the Darkstalkers games, MvC, MvSF, Super Turbo, several other fighters, aside from UMK3. Then there's pool tables, and still many other varieties of games like Puzzle Fighter and Pinball! lol.

And that whole section of rhythm games. I remember last time I was there that dude was there wearing a black mask. Not sure wtf was up with that though. Maybe he was ashamed to be playing it?

*sigh*

Man I wish I could just go down to a Laundry mat or a Pizza Place(good ones near my house :) ) And Play some UMK3(or ANY MK) and Kick some ass :)

Those days are long gone though...

CvS2 was my game on xbox live for a while... that game kicks ass, I dont like the marvel series as much. Super Turbo is the shit. I checked the website and saw those. I would be in there for hours... does the place pack out though?? Like would it be worth driving down there, say, saturday afternoon and chilling till a bit later on that evening? Guessing it closes late, maybe stay till close lol.

I'm in Nassau County, Franklin Square. Every old UMK3 cabinet I knew of is gone.:( I hear that Fun Zone in Farmingdale (Rt 110) is supposed to have one, although when I checked it out they didn't have the machine out on the floor (it could have been in storage though). They had Wargods of all things, but no MK machines out in the open.

Nathans in Westbury used to be a hot spot for me, and they're one of the few places now that actually has a decent amount of games. But now, like most remaining arcades, it's pretty much all driving, dancing, and shooting games there. They used to have two aisles of old-school goodness, but they've been replaced by newer gimmick machines.:x And there's a Dave & Buster's nearby, but it's pretty much the same situation. Only fighters they had, last time I checked, were Tekken 5 and some old Street Fighters on the "Ultracade" machine. They used to have CvS2 but I haven't seen it there since early 2006.

Ah I know right where you are at hehe. I got a Dave and Busters by me. I cleaned some guy up in SF2 one day on the Ultracade machine LOL. Guy as he was walking away (of course) says "your not even that good" to me... I respond with "Your right I'm not that good at all, and your walking away cause you lost bye bye"

MAN! The memories!!! :D

So what time is this tourny going to be at? And do we have a roll call of sorts perhaps? I'm up in the air still if I am going to be driving 2 hours to play UMK3, especially since I will totally blow with no stick practice... but more than that, my friends I have to talk then into coming down and watching me play UMK3 lol. Not gonna drive down solo.

Anyway... ROLL CALL!!! :D

There's basically a minimum of 6 players at any Break event for UMK3, oftentimes more. If everyone who is within the tristate area who claims they will go does, and the other players who always say they want to go, we'd have at least 16 to 20 players everytime. It's not like we have a tournament every month, even though I wish we did so for those who can drive it's not a whole lot of high expectation. Honestly, a 2 hour drive is a small price to pay to play a bunch of good players in UMK3 in person, on an arcade machine, especially when others are also driving that distance. I lug a lot of equipment to Philly every year for NEC, and I'd do it more often if Eric could run more tournaments.

I hear you shock. Thats why I wanna go... like I said the only real thing keeping me from going is my friends. I have to talk them into going down there. Hell, I wanna drive down a weekend before just to get my feet wet with a stick. I'm going to be so slow with it, just like I was with Street Fighter the first week I played again with a stick.

I asked before and no one gave me a solid answer... if I came down, say, this saturday is there people playing usually? Whether competition or just newbs are people there playing and does the place pack out on saturday nights?

There's always people there in various games everyday, Saturday I'm assuming would be one of the best days. If you want to come down this Saturday I can be there by 8:45PM and I'll stay til closing so we'd get in around 3 hours worth. I can't promise a lot of players will be there. If you are intending on going for a warm up you have to let me know as in calling my cell phone and say "I'm leaving for the Break now, meet me there after you get off work." else I'm not going to bother going for the chance there will be no one there to play at all in UMK3 specifically. There's always people to play in 2D fighters.

Alright well I will be there officially, I got like 4 of my friends coming maybe more :) They really wanna see me play I guess!!

PM me your number or something if you like. I probably wont be there this week... next week is a strong possibility, or maybe come down friday night and sleep in a hotel or something.

I am still trying to figure out if I can make it. And I'm trying to figure out if I can get an arcade stick working at my place for practice. I'd like to really be able to participate in a tourny again.

I usually get off work around 8 now so I can get on earlier, just AIM me if I'm around and that's OK. I might be able to get to the Break this weekend, Saturday it wouldn't be until after 8 but I might be off Sunday.

It's probably about 35 minutes if you drive aggressively. You're about as far north east from Dunellen as I am South East of it.

You should go.
