Yeah it's a high but that's why I said in matchups where throwing projectiles is risky, you wouldn't throw them anyway. So you'd use it for punish only. It does combo of 13 so you get a decent damaging combo of 7f punish.

Also you don't need Katar Toss to make anything safe because he's already safe on everything. You can only cover B212 and 134 gap with it if they try to flawless block it.
242 is punishable on block. And 133, you can neutral duck the last kick and punish. Katar toss is idea in these situations too.

You can't cancel 242 on block anyway and 13 string I already mentioned that there's no need for anything to make it safe. Only to cover the gap in 134 if you see them flawless blocking it.

As I recall you’re +7/8 when you come down from AMP hydro boost with a JI2, if they try to anti-air you you can do a jump kick then convert to D1~Argus Plunge (according to Raptor?) I assume flawless block stuff and whatnot applies so it’s somewhat legitimate

Its not impossible to d2 the jump kick either. Its a gimmick but one that you are likely to get away with
 
One tip for keep away I found is that his S2 looks exactly like the start up of Katar toss(Bf2) so you can throw people off by doing S2. Once they start moving, you can amp for a fast mid projectile

Can they PLEASE give us a set of simple cloth/leather masks for all of the ninjas that match Shang Tsung's morphs for Rain, Noob and Sub Zero?

Scorpion has them (not quite in the same palette but close enough, which can by extension be used on his Reptile skin), so why can't we get them for the other ninjas when they've already been modelled for the game and even show up in Rain's fatality?

I really hate their reinterpretations of the MK2 airsoft masks, they look cheap and nasty (yes I know the original props would have been cheap and nasty); the vents are too big, the shaping's all off and they just don't match MK2 (which MK9 managed to almost perfectly recapture for the likes of Smoke).

Just block low the entire time Rain is rising up. When he descends thats your cue to uppercut.

Once people stop stand blocking the move everyone will see how easy it is to overcome this fake pressure.
 
Not fake if he drops down with j3 it wins
I lab the move again this time with several different characters. J3 isn't invincible. Most characters d1 can beat it and they get a free juggle. D2 uppercuts works using Jade, Cassie, Rain and Skarlet. Not with characters like Kitana or Kabal. The universal answer is FB.

yeah if they block low its totally fake pressure. You can even release block after hydro and full combo punish. Sad news but i had a feeling hydro might not be worth it

It in and of itself is its own mindgame. Just because there's one specific way to counter it doesn't mean that every player is always going to be perfectly ready for it and react flawlessly every time. Rain has a lot of safe strings that he can choose to let finish, end early, or special cancel in multiple ways.

Trying to find that sexy Purple Rain/Lightning loadout. The spirit of Uprock is back!

I hate to give up Geyser Kick but Hydro Boost seems like it offers more setup opportunities just because of Geyser Kick's side switch. I'm also curious about the projectile absorb portal because that may help lightning be used as a zoning tool which has some mind games due to how plus it is, but you just have to get it out first. But there's also several great moves to add on here, it may just be a matchup thing as for that third slot if you want Purple Rain to be steady.

Normal lightning recovers faster than Amp but the first hit of Amp Lightning comes out faster.. not sure if Amp Lightning can really be setup in the corner without risk. Also, if you use Amp Lightning in the corner and the third hit whiffs, you can combo by using F2, 4, D2... anything that changes the hurtbox of the opponent to be wider will cause them to get hit by the third lightning and get launched. If they block in the same situation, the third hit whiffs but you will still get mad plus frames.

Also- bubble is just total trash right?

His regular bf2 is just straight up better, makes no sense to use a 2 slot move for like 30-40 damage.

Only reason i would ever use the bubble is if it kept them in the bubble on trades or it linked off 133. As it stands now i see absolutely 0 utility in using it.
I agree with everything you said but Bubble has one thing that I absolutely love about it and that is that if you're in a projectile "trade" scenario, if you hit a Bubble, you can immediately amplify it and get a guaranteed Krushing Blow with a full-screen amplified Argus Plunge. That little setup alone keeps me coming back to Bubble because I hit it almost every match I have it in.

Thats very counter-productive. You simply hit confirm 13 like a normal human being. But yeah i guess hydro dmg boost over kick is big enough to make it worth
This is to stop people from blocking low so you have a better chance to sneak in jump-ins off hydro boost on block. Nothing about hit confirming
