I'm a bad bitch, you can't kill me
Yeah, it's a whole different level of stress. It wouldn't be so bad if the point system was different. Early on it's not bad at all. You get points if you win, less points if you lose. But you still get points for trying. You're constantly leveling up towards whatever your goal is. Then you stop gaining points when you lose, which is understandable.................then you start losing points when you lose....and you can lose a LOT of points when you lose. You might lose more points for losing a match than you'd gain from winning one. Then you get penalized for not playing the game every other day. It just takes me out of it.Kombat League is kinda cool with the rewards for ranking up, but I definitely feel like it puts alot of uneeded stress on people who feel obligated to collect everything or just people who want new stuff for their main.
Like when you play Street Fighter or Tekken, you aren‘t really playing it for rewards, you‘re playing cos you wanna play it. Hopefully you‘re playing it to improve, and ranking up is a byproduct of that. But people just force themselves to play KL just to collect more stuff instead of wanting to.
It's a LOT of unnecessary stress. Just get rid of the point decay and the point loss in general and I think it'd be better. Maybe double the number of points gained for winning so it doesn't feel like a major grind.
Or give us a way to play Kombat League offline and acquire skins offline. While making it a challenge and not just handing it to people so that people who do grind Kombat League online don't feel cheated out of the skins they had to grind for, but not making it like Gauntlet OP. Just like an Endless Brutal Difficulty tower. The further you get up the ladder, the more points you get per victory. Kinda like the win streak in Kombat League except it's actually good and furthers you towards your goal.
I play Kombat League for the skins. If there are skins for a character I like in KL and I like the skin, I'll play for it. Before we knew Mileena was coming, Kitana had that skin coming in Kombat League. It was a purple version of a revenant skin, but she had her human skin and a long braid. I played Kombat League for the first time and grinded for it until I reached Master then stopped. I did the same for Skarlet in this season, and I'm gonna do the same for Sindel whenever that season comes out. I want nothing more than to try and grind to Elder God, get those Time Krystals. But, I can't be bothered. It's too stressful and all it takes is one bad game to set you back and then you're immediately out of the mood. I'd rather spend money on the skins than try to grind that hard.
