Might as well keep going lol. If you quit now that's all that time WASTEDOver 600 eggs now...do I stop or press on the quest for a shiny larvitar?
IV's are essentially Pokemon genetics. The higher a Pokemon's IV is a in a certain stat, the higher it will grow when it levels up (Ex. A Steelix with an IV of 31 in defense might have it's defense stat of 100 at level 20, where a Steelix with an IV of 15 will have it be 80 or something).Like how to make perfect IV's, What IV's are, and do I know what my IV's are lol
To find out whether a Pokemon has a perfect IV and which stat(s) it has it in, you need to go to the Pokemon Center in Kiloude City. Right in front of the dressing room there's a guy wearing purple who will check the stats of your Pokemon. He will tell you which of those stats are that Pokemon's best, and then afterwards he'll say something about them. If he says "stats like that, they can't be beat!" then it's a perfect IV of 31. If he says anything else, they're not. (He can actually say one of five or six things, but for the purposes of breeding, the pokemon is only of use to you if he says "stats like that, they can't be beat!"). Ex. "This Attack stat is good. This Speed stat is good too. Stats like that, they can't be beat!" means that your pokemon has a perfect IV in Attack and Speed. But if he says "this Attack stat is good. This Speed stat is good too. These stats are fantastic" then that pokemon doesn't have any perfect stats, so it's useless and needs to be EUTHANIZED
Here's a chart of what he says and what each means:
As far as breeding for perfect IVs, this is actually a pretty good video to explain it:
The whole thing seems complicated, but it's actually pretty simple once you start doing it yourself
