I'm a little late to the discussion here but this is a very poignant piece. That section about locals is very resonant. Where I live I'd have to drive to a different state if I want to attend a "local" for an NRS game, which isn't even a local at that point. This community seems hellbent on not helping itself and they wonder why scenes wither and die on the vine, like it's such a mystery why an NRS game can't have a healthy scene after its 2nd year.
