Opinion regarding SZ's visuals

Wanted to share my thoughts and hear your's about Sub-Zero's various "visuals" by which i mean the stance, primary costume, and overall look and feel.

Starting with the stance, at first I didn't like it immediately nut overtime it looks very disciplined and stoic The walking animation looks great too.

Primary costume's head wrap feels like it is reminiscent of the traditional Chinese noble hat, again giving a Grand-master feel. The primary mask and over-all costume is okay. Although I personally do not like the Lin-Kuei emblem metallic arm guards and the knot to the front "hanging" piece of the costume. The maskless older version with the head band and beard looked the most amazing so far to me. I wish they'd bring back the turquoise color costume shader from MK3 alt costume.

The intro, victory animations are all very good as well as both of the fatalities are way better than MKX's. I feel that the fatal blow is kind of okay not too good (imo the frozen blood should have stayed red colored instead of turning all blue).

Also I did not mind the change to his eyes, now appearing normal from what used to be all white.

At first glance I actually loved the new design. He's sick as fuck I mean so far I love everything but his bloodborne hood lol....but even that is growing on me. Stance is cool too. Lol puns. Coming from mkx where I fucking despised his primary. This is a very welcome change. I just wish he had his cryomancer arms. Maybe he'll have a skin where he's got his dragon medallion and his forearms freeze up.

I really like the new head piece, I don't know why most people don't like it, the hood from scorpion looks great but is too safe, I like NRS taking the risk with Sub. Every costume of Sub looks great imo, the only piece I would change is the arm guards as you say, but even with them I'm fine.

Surprizingly I like it a lot. Looks very realistic. That couple with cryomantic powers makes for a very balanced realistic/fantastic character. Agreed with OP totally.

he looks great, mainly his 3rd costume set ! his gameplay is very interesting, and now he really looks like a true Lin Kuei Grand Master .... his appearance and special moves presentation in MK11 are both a huge improvement if compared with his MKX incarnation.

Only thing I didn't like was his hood/helmet/whatever you'd like to call it. I like more of a sleeker look. Not an issue at all, though...considering we can change the appearance. I like the look of no hood with the mask, like Revenant Sub Zero had in MKX.

Intros/Outros = Godlike.

Eyes = Eh, rather have Icy look.

What he says pre-match = Leaves a bit to be desired. But overall, I don't mind it.

Primary look = shit tier, mainly because the hat is trash and should be a hood. Though I do like the primary look from the neck down. lol

What I don't like is a lot of the FX for his moves. The ice wall's look goofy and I miss the swords over the axes.

We're not discussing Scorpion's design here. But since you mention, that hood has rhombic opening which reminds me of Little Red Riding Hood's, the hood should have been like Noob Saibot's from MK9.

To be honest it just kinda seems like a step-down from his MKX design. Like Scorpion, Raiden, Baraka, Skarlet, their designs have improved to me. Sonya uses the same outfit from MKX, so nothing to really talk about there.

But Sub-Zero's doesn't really strike me as an improvement. I don't really like the hat/helmet, the bulky Lin Kuei symbol armbands, the big knot that's tied on his loincloth, I don't think the mask looks as cool as it did in MKX, and I hate how one of his gear accessory slots is just the items on his sides. The options are really small and almost unnoticeable, you have the choice between small kunai or small shuriken, etc.

But with customization in the game I don't think it's a big deal. I've already seen a few skins for him that I think look really good, and I noticed that the MKX has mask is one of his gear accessories. So I think that I'll be able to make something that suits my tastes.

I prefer his base costume from MKX. I'm sure I'll come around on this form of Sub-Zero though. The colors are nice.

Sub is the least hype to me, so far. Gameplay hasn’t impressed me too much and the design is worse than his primary and alt in X. It’s not that bad and the hat is growing on me, but definitely near the bottom of the hype list for the demo characters. He’s got the best brutality in the game so far though, the kombat tomb spikes one. Gahd damn.

The Lin Kuei are Chinese based. Both the Subbie brothers are Chinese as well. Sub-Zero is a warrior assassin with ice powers because of his Cryomancer heritage.

Ninjas are Japanese. There are only 2 ninjas in MK. Hanzo and Takeda. The Shirai Ryu is a ninja clan.

They basically do the same thing though, and because of all the palette-swaps and everyone calling them "MK ninjas", it's just kinda been a thing. An incorrect thing, however, which no one really cares about... well, except for nerds like me.

However... there was one time that completely broke my faith in the MK community...
When people started saying Erron Black is a ninja... because he wears a mask.
I got a concussion that day from slamming my head so hard into a wall after having read that...

My initial reaction was that I liked the fact they went full chinese design but something was off about the outfit, but the more I look at it the more I like the bloodborne-esque hat. Right now I really like his main and second outfits. His "classic" outfit looks a bit bland compared to Scorpion's though, might need to see it with other palettes.

The main thing I'm missing is his sword and hammer. Too many axe moves. Skarlett got dagger, blood whip and blood Scythe. Ice sword and hammers were awesome in MKX and I2, IDK why they went 100% axes here whe he could've have a lot of versatility.
