I ain't got time to bleed.
I understand how it works, and playing mostly quan chi and impostor shinnok, she actually doesn't scare me that mutch. by no means I wanted to say that she is overpowered, but I can understand why people find her so frustrating to fight against. now, if people don't know that you have to crouch to go in, it's their fault because they did not inform themselves on the mutchup. If someone knows how evade the gun zoning on the other hand, with someone like Iran-84 that clearly isn't good at all, I think that you should safely jump in on her. does that sound so wrong to you? that's my point, altho I honestly NEVER played against a full-auto jaqui without a char that can evadde her zoning or even punish it.
I know more the point you were trying to get at. You did the work, you were patient and ducked the guns, worked your way in, you finally make the read, jump in and still get clipped by the end animation of the guns that seems wonky.

I understand the frustration. But, you don't need to jump. If even after all the work you still get clipped on a well timed jump in, then just punish another way. I don't know of many characters that don't have a punish from jump range on brain dead pew pew from Jacqui. I still don't think that there is any "fix" to be had here. When I go full derp guns and people I play jump in on me, I get punished. So it's either a you problem or.... a you problem lol.

Sparring partners shouldn't be salty. The sole purpose is to learn the matchup accordingly.

If you want a solid sparring partner or partners hit me up on my stream or just search Aqueous Echo on One (if you're on One)

Everyone is salty, yet some don't show it as much as others. SZ is not overpowered and the purpose is having the opponent in the corner with him and it's his lack of knowledge, like most, is what causes the anger.

Play and practice against people you know who don't have a dick ass attitude, because sometimes playing emotional players can spoil the momentum when doing long sets. And remember it's only a "GAME" but some would jump off a bridge over it lol:)

This isn't really a serious matter but just thought it would be cool to hear the opinions of others.

Recently I got a sparring partner for mk, good player and we thought it would be cool if both of us should play more often to up our game.

I main Sub Zero and our first set was Sub v Lao (wasn't meant to be a serious set) he bodied me this set and I didn't complain one bit.

Next set he alternated between characters and played with Lao. I bodied him when he was Lao and when he switched up characters as well. The MU is in Lao's favour (one would think) so I wouldn't expect any salt, especially from a serious player. I was wrong, he was salty as Hell. He said Sub Zero is OP and that him in the corner is basically bullshit (he sent more but I cba to type it up here)

Basically, those of you who have had multiple sparring partners. What do you think? Should I just take the salt, will it still up my game or not as much? Or is this matter just bullshit as a whole.
Send him here and tell him to make a Sub-Zero is OP thread.

Thanks but I play on the PS4 so we won't be able to play and even if you have PS4 it won't make it difference since I live in the UK and MKX is region locked on PS4.
I'm on UK PS4, I play SZ Gm and Tempest Lao and dabble a few others. Hit me up "Retr0sharky"

I know all about this!

A few of the friends I play are always good fun, but there's one that will bitch and moan during EVERY match I play with him. He plays Cryomancer Sub and will constantly bitch about how Sub sucks. I was finally like boo--it's definitely not the character that sucks, it's the player. You can't just spam that ice hammer or freeze ball and expect to win.

Usually they just bitch about how Mileena is OP, too fast, etc. You see, I've actually taken the time to learn how to play her in all variations, so they assume since I'm able to pull off big combos consistently that she's just OP in general. I tell them hit up training and, ya know, actually TRAIN. Nothing irks me more than people who bitch about losing, but don't put in effort to better themselves.

No, I don't want no scrub. ;P

Salt can be expected, but wanting to figure out HOW to beat something that is perceived as way too powerful should come before that (or not.. since it'll just get patched I guess). Training partners help with adapting to Matchups so much. If the training partner is a good one that feeling of having no options against a character should go away after a session or two because they should be helping you figure out how to beat their character.

Being a fellow Mileena main, I get this stuff quite often as well. "Mileena is OP" or "Mileena roll nerf" or even "her mixups are too fast."

I have at least 2 combos for every situation with her (whiff punish, anti airs, corners, corner reversal, etc) and that's only because I took time to know and more importantly UNDERSTAND her. Not just her specials. People who get the saltiest are usually the same ones that are so predictable.

PS Mileena punishing ice clones is one of my all time favorites to do. Only because SZ'S think they're forever safe behind clones.

Also it should be noted that Mileena is one of the most, if not the most, risk/reward character in the game... she just has so much reward off those risks that people think she's OP...

I agree! One thing I have noticed about Mileena--with friends, online, tourney scene, etc--is that she is NOT punished like she could be. I do think Mileena can be overwhelming to an opponent sometimes because she's such a naturally aggressive character with a lot of pressure options that can lead to good damage.

That said, she can still potentially get punished like a motha if you are patient and have a little knowledge of how she works. I know I get more defensive oriented when I play another Mileena. I know each variation, I know when to expect certain things, and I'm ready to hit block on the fly. That ol' 8 frame roll got people all frazzled. ;P

And on a side note, I still want that damn low sai across ALL variants! Make it happen NRS. ;P

Being salty is no big deal, it's kind of funny, I'm a super calm person but do get annoyed at times too. As long as you can handle it and are learning the match up's better its not a big deal, if they are being a complete tool and raging which is affecting your matches/friendship maybe you should find someone else.

Me and my training partners talk shit to each other in between matches or sets but none of it's serious lol salt is inevitable sometimes

Low Sai across all variations I can somewhat understand and agree. At the very least give it you ethereal but... perhaps the charm of ethereal has not been found though that's the first variation I tried with milly and the sole reason I thought to try her.

Same with Lao. Lao is great... so is hat trick. I play hat trick Lao because that variation takes practice and leaves for a lot of creativity.

But yeah that 8 frame roll gets people salty. Especially done within gaps in an opponents combo string. Her armor breaking, or the big eff you to your wakeup, combo starters are god like. Once you get knocked down by mileena... good luck getting up and resuming your pressure.

All of my partners get salty. Except for 1. It's nice to have someone to play with that's not like that. I understand some salt here and there but when it is all yelling in the mic it gets annoying

When I'm training with my sparring partner, we often alternate having long winning streaks. We show our frustration different. He gets mad and loud claiming bullshit and OP. I know he doesn't mean it but it makes me laugh. He gets loud whereas I get deathly silent. I start focusing and concentrating hard trying to adjust. He mistakes silence for salty but it isn't. We're both talking mad Shit when we're winning, though.

I have to laugh at those moaning people. Mileena takes a lot of skill to play and is a high risk high reward char. People bitching about her online clearly shows that people are not familiar with her

I only get salty when I'm using my secondaries and they start shit talking me when I get bodied through out a set. (It's competive trash talk) but still I get salty. I got a few friends who heads get a little too big and it forces me to switch to my main.

bdizzle2700

gotta stay sharp!
Im the salty one when i play @niredina. Mostly cause hes already a better player than me and as a kano main going against ermac is super salt inducing. I cant stand it when i lose to guesses. To add more salt to my wound he tell me "ermac is midtier" then procedes to do a 45% meter less combo. I tell him to eat s***.

IMO, I would find another partner. Most of this has been said but if they get all twisted up because your beating them they aren't doing it right. Instead he should be asking, "is that an OH? Is that a safe or punishable move?...etc." Have fun with your sparring partner otherwise it might adversely hurt your learning and growing rather than help it.
