According to a report from a Japanese retail event, Nintendo is planning on bringing Super Mario All-Stars to the Nintendo Wii.

On sale October 21 for ¥2,500 (US$30), the compilation will mark the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. The game first went on sale in Japan in September 1985. It went on sale the following month in North America.

The original Super Mario All-Stars — which consists of Super Nintendo remakes of Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels — was released back in 1993.

The Wii reissue will feature special packaging. Included will be a booklet called "Super Mario History 1985-2010" as well as a CD of Mario music ranging from the original game to Super Mario Galaxy 2.

No word on an international release.

i want 3 different versions: The NES versions of the games, the actual SNES Mario AS's and of course a modern remake with the NSMB engine

I like how they're making it a special packaging with history of Mario! That's what has my interest lol. I love documentaries/history vids about things I love.

Don't do this to me! I really want to get the red Wii, it's an pretty amazing package! Unfortunately i cannot afford it as of now. Hopefully i can get it eventually- if it's still available.
As for the All-Stars package, i'm not sure if i want it or not- as i have most of the games included on my Wii i got from the virtual store. Mario FTW

The All Stars versions are the ones redone for SNES, plus you get a soundtrack with 25 years of Super Mario music tracks, artbook and a History of Nintendo dvd too. ALL FOR $30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
