Badboy Takuma
Champion
i was 1992 13 years old when mk1 come out. i played sf2 of course but i switched instantly to mk. after the school, we went all to the arcades to compete. mk was the most expensive game, like a normal credit was 50 cent, mk was 2 dollars one credit lol. which means u had to be good to be able to play a lot.
we competed every day from monday to friday. but saturday was a very special day cos that day we gathered in the morning to fight plus players from other towns came to fight us. we also traveled some saturdays to other citys and towns to fight the locals. we did that from late 92 until 1995. it was the most amazing and beautiful time of my life as a fighting game player, thats why i will be a classic mk player for life.
i was the main target from my city cos i was the best player and i won every single arcade tournament. i lived in chile south america, the competition was super hard.
then 1997 i moved to germany and then i had to stop playing cos in germany no arcades no serious players. only those snes sf2 players who were all scrubs of course, no competition at all but thats obvious. besides that i could not even play fighting games with a snes pad lol, so it was over. like 1999 i started to play sf games again and i am still playing and trying to be at least decent lol.
but yeah, mk2 is my fighting game of all times, nothing NOTHING comes close to the hype that was unleashed when it was released. the mk2 machine has two securitys around, it was insane everyone wanted to play it 24/7.
mk2 ruled in the arcades like no other game.
so thats it, i have a lot of arcade time storys but its hard for me to write in english haha
