ok, so MKA is terrible

They ported the same game to all the systems that its coming out for. The game is based on the KAF system so instead of modeling every character individually, the characters are built from parts.

I can see why they wouldnt want to make it for X360 because the graphics of the game are barely acceptable for the current gen and they weren't going to rebuild the entire character system to release it for the X360.

The MK Team traditionally drops to the lowest common denominator. MK3 for PSX/Windows and UMK3 for Saturn were all based on the same code. MKT for PSX/Saturn/PC were all based on the same code. Each version could have been built to maximize its quality but it wasn't because they figure out how the best way they can make a game so it will appear on the most systems.

With MK4 it was just a matter of replacing the character models with high or low poly-count versions, not a huge task, so it makes sense that they had different versions with different quality graphics, although again PSX and PC were basically the same.

It all comes down to balancing how to make a game with the least amount of work that allows it to have the widest release.
