Injury to the fragile ego of a schizophrenic.
Meanwhile I'll enjoy my "Yeah I knew it" victory lap.
Hope whatever comes out next from NRS is much better. They need to take some SERIOUS time and do some restructuring both in methodology and potentially staff allocation to get things running better and smoother. NRS needs a general refresh to their approach to games and needs to come out of the gates swinging with something VERY impressive for whatever they show next.
Broken promises, a bad launch and a reboot that then went right back to the well of the time-shenanigans we just left really seem to have hurt the game with casuals and that is the life blood of MK. Genuinely hope their next offering is stronger and delivers on more of their promises and the standard that now exists for fighting games in general.
If anyone EVER doubts there are people that absolutely parasocially attach themselves to IPs, just think of batshit insane shit like this.
No, the bad launch isn't the problem. The customers are.
No, the lie of support lifetime isn't the problem. The customers are.
No, the long list of issues plaguing the game aren't the problem. The customers are.
No, the lack of value many people feel isn't the problem. THE CUSTOMERS ARE.
If it has the brand [Mortal Kombat] on it, you fucking pay your $110 and sing its praises as if it was excreted from the freshly Brazilian'd butthole of Princess Kitana herself! Otherwise SHUT UP! And if the game fails, ITS YOUR FAULT!
Praise be to Boon, the only man born without flaw in the last 2000 years. Praise be to him, NRS and the Toasty spirit. No heretics allowed!
This is how you get Gamestop employees getting maced because Sonics arms are blue.
Standard that exists in other fighting games? LMAO that is BEYOND stupid.
MK1 came out with 22 chars at launch, while the vast majority of other games including SF6 come out with less than 20 while still charge for full price. But MK1 is bad and the rest are good.
MK1 has the greatest story mode of all time, while SF6 brings a horrible story with the most insulting ending of all time in World Tour and Tekken 8 turning the Tekken IP into a giant anime slop, all coming in with taking 10 steps back in their lore by bringing back both Bison and Heihachi. Meaning that they were lying all along.
MK1 came in with some bugs just like pretty much all games come in, while both SF6 and T8 launched with bugs that were 10 times worse and were truly game breaking, some of which are still in the game since launch, like the input buffer bug in SF6.
MK1 is the most balanced fighting game right now as well as the most complete game both in single player content and competitive elements on top of having the replay value of the single player content being able to last for a nearly a year and a half at the very least, while SF6 and T8 have so many issues and design flaws across the board while the replay value of the single player content for both games combined can only last 7 months at most.
MK1 just announced the Definitive Edition along with the "And more" line meaning that there is more content coming, which means they didn't lie, while Tekken 8 straight up lied to it's players by saying they would make the game more defensive only to make it more offensive instead.
MK1 had DLC practices of having a new char every 2 months while both SF6 and T8 had gaps of 3-5 between chars while charging for the same or even higher prices than MK1. Also MK1 has very reasonable prices for it's MTX items, while SF6 charged items for 15-24 dollars and Tekken 8 hide it's MTX shop until after the reviews were out.
But no, NRS/WB are the only liars and the only bad guys while Capcom and Bamco are doing only good.
And it's funny that you talk about being schizophrenic, fragile egos and parasocial attachment, because you also say you are taking the "victory lap" as if you are going into a war with NRS/WB and anyone who likes them and their games, almost like you're trying to convince yourself you are in a war.
You're basically projecting yourself, you are the schizophrenic one.
I will give you one thing, the customers are not the problem, it's you and the interent community, and no, not all of you on the interent buy MK games, while you still bitch about them, so you're not the same group.
