Most people will say Doomsday, but I don't think it makes a difference which of those 3 characters you choose overall. Bane probably does worse than the other two IMO.

It would be stupid if it weren't lex and his huge dash lag. Most characters can do something about it, Lex specifically has to block.
Also 16 bit gave me permission to MU cop this. Worst case scenario, I agree people assume the worst but you can't ignore that when you're on the ground the match shifts insanely into Bane's favor.
Only exception is shazam and teleporters, and of course a shazam would be the one to say "Bane's oki isn't that good >_>"


Anyways, I've been through the idea of people assuming the worst and I don't like it either, but theres a difference between assuming the worst and realizing you have a huge lack of options.

Like Batman on wake-up, you can assume the worst and say he'll never get up, but you can't assume the best and say he will every time. Odds are he won't, the options and odds are not in his favour in the slightest. Or Grundy, especially Grundy. If Grundy gets knocked down anywhere on the screen, the best he can do is block the b.1 and then the following 3 or 4 high/low mix-ups that come right after, because the frame traps and his sub-par mobility aren't getting him out.

Oki is what Bane does best, and against some characters, its enough to swing the game the moment their back touches the ground. Escaping tick throws is a lovely idea, then it ends up being a 25/25/25/25 mix-up each time is 3/4 of the time not in the favor of the option you choose. There is a reason why some MUs are "9-1 if he can catch you, 1-9 if he can't."

This is to you and @Rally Jackson . Im not going to say Bane is the best, but he does have the best options, and he does have the best odds when it comes to oki. There is no denying that, and we can be optimistic all we want, but with all the tools at his disposal, a player should only be getting out of oki scott free if the Bane player is being predictable, or the character he is facing has good options to get out.

How can I tell you how to beat someone when I have never seen you play?

I am not the ares mod so I am not entitled to long discussions, I tried that and the west coast shut me down so I gave up. Defer to The gabriel or yourself so the illuminati can sleep better. Nor am I the best player, this thread shows that definitively. So my opinion means nothing.

I wanna go back too man! I had a blast playing with you all when I went, we need to have a twin vs twin 2v2 haha :D

Even though I won a load of fun sets when I was out there, I better hope I don't lose any in MKX, or I'll still be hearing about it in 2017.

Awesome post, Doom Bark. I pretty much agree with you completely. I don't think every single knockdown Bane can land will afford an opportunity to land a backdash-stuffing meaty though and that's where really knowing your options - limited as they may be - come into play.

I've been saying his oki is "best ever" status and the guessing game is heavily in his favor all along, but sometimes it only takes one or two right guesses to seal the victory for his opponent too. It's simply no more the case that you will lose your lifebar guaranteed off one knockdown if you have shit wakeups as it is that you'll be able to get up every time if you know what options Bane has. It's somewhere in between the two and I have never denied that its leaning way more toward the "stay the fuck down" side of things.

It's just that this "I can't do anything waaaah" mentality isn't exactly true. Batgirl has a million ways to get you into a vortex and a million and one ways to mix you up out of it, but people acknowledge that it's a guess and they have a chance. Same with Sinestro and so forth. Bane's oki is right up there with those in that chances are Bane will guess right way more often, but you CAN still get out if you make the read instead, and certain characters can play their game again if they do.

It only doesn't matter when you're Catwoman since getting out gets you nowhere special anyway lol.

Just to Clear one thing up. Im pretty sure i have not said Bane's Oki is bad. Its really good. Like yes he does have options to cover pretty much every option the opponent is going to use. But its up to the player to pick the right choice. On both ends. If i had Said his Oki is bad then i fucked up. My bad. But yes Bane has a Great Oki Just like a good amount of the cast does. But because of Banes Armor it gives me more options for less bar.

If there was a more recent then i would of posted that. But this was the most recent i think. I already know you have gotten better since then and learned from what happened. There really have not been that many Bane Vs Batman Matches as of late that i can recall. Even more so now that Grr Is playing Joker.
