Hey Guys,
Not trying to spread any negativity but I really need to get this out there because I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. My Rant is aimed towards 3 different aspects of Kombat League that I ABSOLUTELY hate. Now before I get into it, I want to give you a little background on my life so you can see why I hate these features so much. I'm a 27 year old guy that has 2 jobs, works roughly 70+ hours a week AND consistently go to the gym as I feel taking care of your body is EXTREMELY important to living a long, healthy life. So game time to me is basically Friday and IF I GET LUCKY, Saturday and Sunday nights. This time is precious to me as I basically have a limited amount of time to choose what games I want to play. Now I gravitate toward MK11 because it's the newest competitive fighter. With that being said, heres my rant.
First, the match-up system. Now the hierarchy of the ranks is hella simple. However, we are at a point in this game where most of the people playing Kombat League are decent to high level players. This becomes obnoxious when you start playing people 1 to 2 ranks below you who are good and are put in a no risk, high reward MU vs you which leads me into my next issue.
The point system. The point system is hella inconsistent. How is it that I can play someone the same rank as me and some times get only 40 points if I win, and other times get 60 (while I have a 0 game win streak...). Then I consistently get pitted against people who are 1 to 2 ranks lower then me, have a high percentage chance of beating me (according to the win/loss percentage), then beat me and I lose 100-150 points and if i win, I get like 10-20 points...
My final issue is the point decay. Kombat League seasons last 30 days. So I can only play realistically 4 days of that if I can't get on during Saturdays and sundays and I have a life so I'm not devoting every Friday to games. With that being said, the point decay is HELLA unfair because of all the above I just mentioned. I was literally 125 points away from a Demigod, couldn't play for a week (I work in the hospital system so hours are wacky) and came back to see that I lost 200 points. Played 2 games vs 2 masters, barely lost twice now I lost another 300 points...
Like I'm sorry, but does NRS think people have no lives? I literally wake up, get ready for work, leave for work, work, then leave work to go to the gym and go home and go to bed. Rinse and repeat the whole week.
Not going to lie, this has me HELLA heated.
What are your thoughts?
