I absolutely haaaate waiting through fatalities. I never use them, I hate when my opponent uses them and I damn sure never want to see them on stream. Such a waste of time.
The novelty of x-rays and fatalities wears very quickly. Most of them begin to feel like they're too long, or were uninteresting to begin with; nothing about them really feels "hype."
But you know what is hype.... some "All your base are belong to us " quote with some hyper exaggerated orgasm face on a Street Fighter drawing. The time and effort NRS puts into the Fatalities and Brutalities must be unmeasurable. In my opinion, to shit on all that creativity and effort should be a cardinal sin. People dont have to lay the Fatal on anyone, they can jab em out or whatever. The whole pause and restart horseshit is what gets me. NO other game community does that. While watching Smash Bros. at CEO, I didnt even see a player do that when they were on their last life and their opponent was on their 1st while dying. That game has a longer startup after a loss as well. When the restart goes down, its just another elongated button check.
Just a personal opinion, but I think stream stations should be played with music on to some degree too. It's hardly an annoyance to the players and it fills the dead air when nothing is happening on the screen, during neutral, and when the casters aren't talking. Got to start being more E-Sports with the production value.
if anything, players are only hurting themselves by not letting their brain relax even for 10-20 seconds. so you lose a game, instantly hit restart without thinking about why you lost and what you should do, and go lose again.
no time to regain composure, no time to take a deep breath and calm down after an intense game, no mental reboot.
