Because everyone hates wifi players it makes me feel bad knowing that there isn't much I can do at the moment until I live in my own house. It's hard being a teen with a love for fighting games.
seriously, drill some holes.... i found a 50 foot Ethernet cable for under $6 on one google search... u can run the cable through the wallas at corners, and under carpet if your really have to have it out of the way.. 50ft should reach from basement to upstairs.
im not hating on them.. its just so easy to make your connection 2X's stronger and lagless, by just plugging a wire from your Console to Modem... i just dont understand how the majority doesnt do it...
i can understand a few here and there, might live with their parents, and they won't let em run cables through rooms. but 80% of the players on here have WIFI instead of wired? like wtf. it has to be lazyness... btw i understand that the original location of the modem will go in the room that has the phone hookup in it for DSL Broadband the most common type of internet.
but you can simply have them install another line to your room off the same internet.. cost like 30 max, normally 15 for the other hookup in another room. plus whatev for a router if you dont have another one.
i have Centurylink Highspeed Braodband, which is nopt the best internet out there but is definitely built for gaming, at 50Down 10Up - 1-30ms ping
i never even had a problem with any game on my older 10DOWN 0.78UP 50ms
then MK9 came out and there was lag then MKX became that same factor... but on beta my brothers internet at same package 10DOWN 0.78UP 50ms does fine on the EO BETA.
i happen to pay 2 separate bills because i dont want family, wife ECT. having her smart phone do silent updates, and youtube/netflix. draining my bandwidth from my gaming room.
and Centurylink is one of 3 providers where i live. the other two don't even come close to what it provides.
Most of the Ping problem isnt shitty internet, its Location. if you are 1000miles away from your opponent you should have a 200ms - 600ms connection.. because you are that far from them.. and who knows how many destinations you have to hop to reach the main server?
im in the MID US and in one KOTH i can be playing a KANSAS City player at 60ms, and then next match its a player from LA at 300ms.
and all of them might even have the same damn internet and it wouldnt matter.
but WIFI will double that number!
all communication is One at a time like Walkie Talkies , player 1 sends info, while player 2 waits for player 1 to finish sending before player 2 can send theres. (player one PResses button to talk, and Player TWO waits till player1 lets off button to talk)
but Wired is a two way street, the day Cell phones where invented... WIRED Players threw down the walkie talkies and picked up cell phones, now both players can send and recieve data at the same time!
Obviously i don't expect everyone to know this.. but simply put they should understand by know that WIRED is 2X better then WIFI!
can WIFI be used on a very good Connection under the right conditions? assuming your router is very close to your Console, and there is no walls for it to send through! yes it can be used, as long as the Modem/Router is high dollar, and Synced well with Console!
but under the Average player standards, HELL NO!
thier Modem is 5 walls deep communicating with 4 Cell phones, while 3 computers are streaming youtube or Netflix, while they are trying to game through 5 walls of weakend signal.
Fact is my Gear is good enough to play on WIFI and i still always choose Wired for a reason. even with my Alienware 15 R2, killer lan card, with multi communication priority card and cat6 and 5 cables twisted and EMD insulated covers!
BTW the BETA is AWESOME, Rollback is truly the way they should have gone from the start. i honestly don't know what evil mind possesed them to use that gawed awful INPUT DELAY method.
