MK9 not having enough interest to keep servers going really shows you how fickle gamers are.Happens with all online based games eventually. It all comes down to support for the game and how many people still play it. If only a handful of people are playing the game on a regular basis, it makes absolutely zero sense financially for the company to keep the server up and running. Like it or not, MKAK and classic MK in general is just not popular among the masses and thus you see the possible results.
It's always about the "latest and greatest".
NetherRealms (or whoever) could re-release shitty MK5 under the name of MK10 and everyone would be creaming themselves.

On Sept 13th 1994, MK2 was released to the home consoles.
Those versions sucked ass, but they were catridged Crack for kids like me.
