I'm not Vak goddamnit
Naturally, all of my complaints are online-specific. No problems with them or the d3 vortex offline. Jumping beans are a different story.Blame the netcode. NJPs are fine.

Shit AAs I know.Naturally, all of my complaints are online-specific. No problems with them or the d3 vortex offline. Jumping beans are a different story.
Repeated d3s are legitimately a problem for certain match ups in lag, even if you block all the d3s and (attempt to) counterpoke properly. I main liu kang and his fastest low poke is d1, at 9 frames. Quan Chi has a d3 which has a 9 frame start up and is -1 on block. Given the 1 frame it takes to unblock I have one frame to interrupt repeated d3s on block against Quan Chi (this is not the only match up where this is true, this is just an example). Counterpoking repeated d3s is near impossible in heavy lag, which I unfortunately experience all the time given the comically bad netcode. I can jump out but Liu Kang's jump attacks have horrendous vertical hitboxes and its legitimately hard (if not impossible) to hit opponents which are throwing out low profiling d3s and similar attacks. I can also backdash or armor but his armored attacks don't launch and his backdashes don't lead to a punish so it doesn't discourage anyone from d3ing on block. My fastest mids get low profiled by repeated low pokes too. Against bad players it's fine, I will win anyway. However, when i play someone decent who is willing to abuse this it's pretty freaking dumb. It's not something that should exist, but it does, due to the pitiful netcode. Why are you letting people d3 you six or seven times in a row?
Block it. Then counterpoke it.
I kind of get tired of people who complain "oh my god, nothing but d3". If you're getting hit by repeated d3's that means you are not blocking repeated d3's.
I get so freaking tired of people complaining about getting d3'd, but the moment I go for an overhead, it gets freaking blocked. D3's are a way to teach the opponent "block, so I can throw you" or "block low, so I can hit you with an overhead".
This is what is called "conditioning". Sometimes in order to start offense against an opponent, you need to teach them to act a certain way. You can't condition someone to respect a throw if they aren't freaking respecting your d3's. You can't condition someone to be vulnerable to overheads if you aren't freaking respecting their d3's.
You're expecting your opponent to start offense without being able to condition you to respect that offense. That's absurd.
