Mileena eats wakeup armor with Goro.

You can meaty their wakeup with f144 and proceed to full combo them with his launching strike.

I was doing f144, assist, dash 21 roll, j22 air ball, dash f4.

Meaty f144 is something I’ve neglected to explore. Generally I use f24 roll with the 4 hitting meaty.

I notice just a raw 1 is plus on block, and I’m trying to discipline myself mentally to just use that without the full string for footsies.

If anyone has some tips for piecing her offense together I’m all ears. I just try to do the aforementioned 12 roll, f24 roll guessing game. I picked up the tip of low sai into f4, which I vary with low sai into dash sweep.

Any tips on strategies on how to use her strings like f242 and f144 and f34 in neutral would be appreciated.

You are going to get a lot more damage in the long run if you start doing stagger pressures of 1, 1xxlow sai (NOBODY blocks that, ever), 1 into grab and 1 into f144xxball roll (once they start ducking the throw).

A blocked F144 into microbackdash into 12ball roll will get most people off guard as well, and if you are feeling extra insane, do a blocked f144 into jump back into INSTANT ex air ball roll, for an almost instant punish. F242 I almost never use, I prefer to always use f2433 (most people will neglect to block the last low hit and it is safe regardless).

F34 is also something I never do on neutral, it is just too slow, so I'd only use it in specific combo extensions.

Another very dirty trick I like is, instead of ending combos with f4, try doing f2 into ball roll. The ball roll will knock them down with enough frame advantage for you to do a single f1 meaty. If it hits, combo. If it is blocked, grab or do the full string then backdash into 12. If they delay wakeup (most probable outcome), the f1 will whiff and you are left with the perfect timing for a grab.

F4 into microduck into 12 is also diabolically effective against players who think they can take advantage of you careless throwing the f4 around - however, NEVER try this against Kung Lao and Liu Kang, as they both have strings that can actually punish the blocked F4.

Does anyone also have a method of catching juggled opponents after j22 airball with j122. In practice mode I can land it sometimes (mid screen) but I dont know why it works when it does. Often I’m jumping forward with but the first hit of j122 does not connect

You are welcome, friend! I also don't know how to consistently do j22 airball into j122. I have only the suspicion that the j22 must be done early or something...

very nice! I used the get up options for the dummy in training mode and tried this out with Shang set to a random wake up attack. I also did another one I saw hourglass of reign do: 3,4 for the legs up face down knock down and hit j2 meaty which will combo into f4. it’s another nice little piece of offense


edit: also the discord helped me get the j22 into j122 db2 more consistently. You need to delay the second 2 of j22 so that the opponent is lower and all the sais of the air ball hit. That way you can catch them with the 1. It’s possible to delay the first 2 of j22 instead but I found that harder

How do you guys use Milena's F144 string? Hourglass of Rain said to me in his chance to "try to hit confirm it, and sometimes stagger F1"

Can someone help me unpack that? haha I get it but I don't.

Staggering f1 is the most use you'll get from this string, unless you use Khameleon. It works like this:

Start by conditioning your opponent with 1,2 and 1. 1, grab, 1, 1,2. They will quickly start trying to microduck now - that's when you start doing 1, f1, f144 hit confirm into combo, f1 grab.

The combined fear of 1) getting grabbed + 2) getting staggered with 1,2 without contesting it and 3) getting your neutral ducks blown up by f1 is what makes this string useful. It should be complimentary to 1,2 staggers and grabs.

As for when you have Khameleon, you can do f1 into Khameleon ballroll OR f144 into Khameleon air sais - both will combo, but one is punishable. You can also do f144 into air lift then immediatelly do ex air ball roll (will catch most people who are not paying attention), this will get them into yet another layer of mental stack.

Other than that, you can do in the corner 1xx low sai then either grab, do 1xxlow sai again or do f144 ballroll if you think they will try to microduck and punish.
