Yeah I agree and its a matter of if you are okay with it or not...all I said is that I am not and I dont like investing in Kickstarters if the people doing it could clearly do it in other more traditional ways...
Also yes KI in my opinion is a rushed hot mess and calling it free to play is a joke as you get to play less then most demos for free...

But Mighty #9 looks great and I will gladly buy it if it gets finished and if not I will tell all the people begging for more MM to shut up because this is their chance...so maybe kickstarter is good for that...:joker:

And it'll stick it to capcom. Must be a vendetta :joker:

Saint Op Omen

Savagely beating his super-ego with his id...
And it'll stick it to capcom. Must be a vendetta :joker:
Sadly if it fails it will also prove them right and we will never get another Mega Man...
Also sad that the future of KI is in the hands of crazy people....Its a the girl I like is the daughter of the evil guy thing...

I have recently come across this Kick Starter project and felt inclined to share it with this community to help gain support.

If you check the link below you learn more about the project and some of its funding goals:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mightyno9/mighty-no-9

This project is essentially the spiritual successor to Megaman, being created by ex-Capcom Game Designer Keiji Inafune (the man that created Megaman).

What I find particularly interesting about this project is that, stylistically it looks like an evolution of the Megaman X Series.

Prior to the Nintendo 3DS launch, there were plans to make a Megaman Legends 3.

The project was interesting because it was the first attempt that Capcom had made within the past several years to utilize the Megaman IP, however in addition; The development model was intended to get fans involved through the Capcom Unity Forum pages.

They were attempting to accomplish this by providing concept art for bosses, allies, enemies, etc. and requesting fan feedback on several different aspects of the development process.

There were also attempts to throw competitions for user submitted content that was intended to be directly implemented into the game.

An example of this was for users to submit a boss design, and provide information on how the boss fought, what it's weak points were, powers obtained, etc.

Megaman Legends 3 appeared to have been making good developmental progress, however had been cancelled abruptly. Several fans believe there was a conflict of interest between Inafune and the leadership at Capcom, because shortly after the project had been cancelled, there was an announcement of Inafune's departure with Capcom.

Not to mention the severe disappointment from the fanbase when Capcom had announced that they were cancelling the project.

I personally had originally purchased a 3DS with the intention of playing Megaman Legends 3 and was pretty disappointed when I had heard that it had been cancelled.

The Megaman IP has, since Inafune's departure not been utilized in its own stand alone game; And to some degree only seems to be utilized in a somewhat joking manner for other cross-over titles (UMvC3 Frank West Megaman Skin, Box Art Megaman in SFxT, etc.).

This Kick Starter project, to me, looks like what I would imagine the type of game a developer like Inafune has been wanting to create for several years to evolve the Megaman IP, however hasn't been allowed to create potentially because of a conflict of interest with leadership at Capcom, lack of belief in profit, etc.

I am interested to see how this Kick Starter evolves; Within the matter of about 24 hours the project has reached $700,000 in funding with a $900,000 goal for the game to be made.

There are stretch goals with the final goal being a $2,500,000 to see a console release for XB0x360/PS3/Wii-U.

If you are interested in this, support this project!

Man no hype yet? I am. Inafune doesn't want his creation to be thrown away by Capcom. I wish had money to back this.
I've backed it so far with $20 which gets me a copy of the game.

I may end up increasing my donation as I learn more about it. The beta access is very tempting.

How far Capcom has fallen. Good games, but something broke down in the relationship with the fans; hopefully this game will serve as a wake-up call.

This project has reached it's funding goal of $900,000 within a time span of 48 hours.

It is currently at: $1,165,711

I hope it reaches all of its stretch goals so we can see a release on all consoles (X360/PS3/Wii-U).

The game has already reached funding within a time span of about 36 hours. It will probably reach its first stretch goal within the next 4 hours of this post here.

I have backed this project because I saw the potential in it and am confident that the KickStarter itself would reach its funding. My Return on Investment in supporting this project is that I will get a copy of the game when it is released.

Above, I have posted the list of rewards based on your level of contribution towards the project; So as a supporter of the project you can choose your level of investment.

Granted you can look at this project with a 'wait and see' approach and purchase it once the game is officially made. But I think KickStarter provides a very interesting approach towards funding projects while cutting out the middle man that usually fucks these kinds of projects up.

I am really interested to see how this game develops. I hope it plays more like the Megaman X Series, but with its own style/evolution of that series.

I want fast paced dashing, dash jumping, wall jumping, charged shots, etc.
