Microsoft Respond To Concerns Over Xbox1

JaredL

Aww shit <REDACTED DUE TO FEELINGS> its Shapzam
I'm not sure l am qualified to answer this..I'm not sure ANY of us are...

I do know that my Xbox has always been online..in fact I can only count up to perhaps 24 hrs total from the 1st Xbox onward the amount of time I have NOT had Internet for whatever reason..

So, it is not like I played fighters online, then when I wanted to play Skyrim, I took the console offline.... If anything I would just join a friends party while they played COD or a fighter I didn't participate in and just shoot the shit while playing..
I believe Microsoft is truly ushering in the next phase of gaming, and we have NO idea what that means and can only "try" to relate to what it means from our current/past (which is human nature and fine).

Well at least you admit you're a blind fanboy.

And if your ISP goes down for a day or two? Don't expect to be able to use your console.
If your ISP goes down for 24 consecutive hours regularly then you are not in the target audience for Microsoft! If it happens once a year then I think you can suck it up the same way you suck up a power outage. And why aren't you guys complaining of the possibility of power outages? Since the Handheld devices are immune to those shouldn't you be preaching that they are better than both the XB1 and PS4?

Power outages affect both equally.
Internet outages do not.

And what about server outages.

You think the people who wanted to play Simcity had internet outages? Or was it server problems? I would fucking laugh out loud if xbox gets hacked for a month like sony was... leading to no games.

Power outages don't affect PS4 and Nintendo 3DS (or whatever the latest one is) equally. So get a 3DS, obviously it's the best choice.

EDIT:When was the last time MS had a 24 hour server outage? If it's 23 hours it's no problem since it needs to be offline for 24 for it to be a problem.

You are the biggest fanboy in here. Just look at all the replies and hate you spew for the "opposing side" (XB1).

I'm not a fanboy at all.

I was going to buy the xbox 1.. right up until the sony e3 show. I saw the xbox conference and I was "wow so many games". But I was also assuming that sony would do the same anti consumer shit as xbox. So I thought, might as well go xbox.

I mean, go with what you know right? I own an xbox 360 now, and never had a Ps2... I had an xbox.

So... to call me a fanboy after all my years buy microsfot products and supporting them up until E3 is well... silly.

Apples and oranges. Consoles and handhelds are very different.

How ironic. You own an Xbox 360 and I own a PS3.

No it's not silly. You became a PS4 fanboy recently at E3. Your history doesn't matter, you are one now. It's obvious from the replies.

History does matter. If you are willing to change sides... then you are not a fanboy. Fanboys are marked by their reluctance to change sides.
No you are dead wrong. Fanboys are blind and can't see both sides and everything they hear about the opposing side they twist into something that makes it sound even worse somehow. And everything their side says they praise. Don't worry though, there are now plenty of PS4 fanboys after E3. It's so easy to see who the fanboys are aswell cause when you mention something good about the XB1 they instantly reply with a huge amount of hate.

Actually.. I just answered your question..

And instead of formulate a response.. You launch an attack- which is fine.. I've been called worse by better.. But I digress..

All launch systems have issues.. It's truly not intelligent to purchase a system til its second round of launches.. That way issues are fixed, re-worked, etc.. And that falls within the the first 6-12 months.. At that time the nasty stuff seems to creep out.. RRD issue for The 360 for example..

I am on the fence- I am waiting to see the systems in play 6-12 months after launch..
There are some leap of faiths that Microsoft has presented... But I am also not naive to think that immediately jumping ship to Sony is wise too. Are people even considering that Sony could have its own production system issues quirks (possibly a RRD v.2.0- Sony style?). If you think Sony is run by a non-profit organization you are just as blind as ANYONE making an ill informed decision.

Ok. XB1 are pushing for the future. So, what future is that? What advantages does xb1 have?
XBL GOLD gives away two titles of your choosing for free a month... And?

Edit: sure it's from a pre-established list.. But are you saying Sony is giving away new releases for free to PS+?

Driveclub.. Hahahahaha.. Sorry.. But okay.. I see where you are going.. That's awesome! Congrats! And I hope you enjoy Driveclub! But again... I am not speaking in a pro Microsoft stance, I am simply trying to relay to people that taking one stance pre-launch is opening yourself up to a Loooooot of crow eating.. And being 34. Yrs old I have been around long enough to know that crow taste like shit. :)

Yeah being 33 I am sooooo lost....
Like I said I don't care for driveclub but it is new and from what I read one of the top carporn things...
Just answering the question....
I won't eat crow though because I am not against xbox I am against the stance they are taking and their arrogance and out of touchness...
If all that changes if the sharing and used stuff is simpifyed and changes then they are back on the board for a purchase after the first price cut...and when I finish all my 360 games I have and am getting as I don't have room for 5 systems and a computer...lol

I Understand...

The one major thing that has kept me from giving my business to Sony outright is the fact that Microsoft may be on to something here.. Lets face it.. We replace technology with new technology all the time.. And they all do the same thing..

-Floor Modle-tube TV-flat screen-3D TV-Smart TV: television
-VHS-DVD-Blueray: movies
-Homephone-Pager-cell phone-smart phone: Phones
-Vinyl-8 track-cassette-CD-ITunes: Music

The one thing that Many of these items have in common is that you usually carry 1-2 on hand as it is being replaced.. Example- VHS player and movies when you purchase your DVD player and movies- til the VHS player is completely obsolete and shelved for good.

So right out of the gate and not seeing what Microsoft has to offer and how their plan works IN reality is foolhardy.. And if one were to balk at all technological advances and write them off as..
"That's dumb to have to buy something new to do what my X already does"
"MICRO$OFT ARE THE DEVIL!!!!1"
"Government wants to spy on me"
"Always on line why? Yeah I'm always on line anyway, but now that I'm being told- FUCK THAT!"

We would all have floor Model televisions, with VHS players, listening to vinyl (not that bad actually ;) ) with no cell phones.. ..

Why? Because it is human nature to fear advancement.. It is human nature to fear change.. It is human nature to fear the unknown.. HOWEVER it is also proven that it is human nature for a pioneer to come along and dare to advance, dare to change, dare step into the unknown... And what if.... WHAT IF.. That person happens to be Microsoft? Sorry.. But I can't jump ship on them... Not yet.. Still have homework to do.

Step into the next level? Ok... what do I get for stepping into the next level?

What advantage is there to being always online?
With the XB1, I can share a game with someone 2000 miles away, without travel or stamps.

At another location, like my work, I can have another XB1 share my entire game library with my console at home without having to carry a single disc.

If my brother-in-law is bugging me to play a game he loves, I can try it without even leaving my home and without committing to anything.

I don't need to have easy access to all the physical media for my console in order to play the game I want. They're either installed already, or I can reinstall without requiring any physical media.

If I lose the packaging and disc for a game, I can still re-install and play it whenever I feel the need to.

Going digital is pretty goddamn incredible once you get over the initial shock. I remember years ago when people were flipping out about Steam and the loss of PC physical media. Still, I'm probably not going to buy the system until it's out for at least 6 months, but it does have more potential than any other new console.

Let us not forget about physical media vs digital media- the news papers, books... The news paper stand vs Internet, the Barnes and Noble vs Nook debate...initial shock indeed.. IT DOES SMOOTH OVER!!
