Maryland/Virginia area locals?

I am in V.A, I live around the Rappahannock River/Chesapeake Bay. I have no local scene, or at least not one I can attend regularly (that I am aware of) lol

Pretty much same area here. Tad further north in Southern Spotsylvania/Ladysmith. Unfortunately there's not much of a local scene here, but I'm willing to travel for some experience. Will be attending my first tournament (Gstop aside) in Charlottesville at the OmegaCon. After that, I'm aiming to hit up TFC in Raleigh, NC in the fall. So, if anyone has or knows of someone that has frequent get-togethers, I'm all ears! Was recommended to me that I post here and ask.

Northern VA hosts tournaments often and has a pretty big scene, and here in southern va we have a huge scene with the same. Regional this weekend, sponsosrship tournament to TFC coming up, and you missed TCW!

Yea man, like the mighty @Mr Aquaman said, NoVa is trying to expand our scene. We just started our league at CFAS. We play every Wednesday night at hard times cafe in Manassas, and a monthly every month. Only 1 hour from you! Here ya go:

I must have been looking in all the wrong places. Searched locally and OmegaCon and TFC were the only results I came across. Completely new to the tournament scene, so I'm still learning about everything it entails. :eek: Ugh, and TCW wasn't that far.

Thanks! I'll aim to start attending next week. Might be able to bring a few friends if personal schedules permit. I'm already glad I joined this forum, lol. Thanks again for the responses guys! Can't wait to participate!

Are you all still having weeklies in Virginia beach? The ones in the middle of week are harder for me to get to I'd have to take off work early but I really wanna try to make it down there

Every Thursday. But if you ever want to compete or just grind all day with everyone here just let me know when brother and I can arrange either a tournament or a meet up np.

Hey, there's going to be an MD weekly starting up at Xanadu starting Thursday, 4 Feb 2016. Any and all players welcome, of course. Help us grow the scene!

Just to get a feel for things, this will start out as a casuals event. Tournaments will happen in the following weeks as numbers grow. We'll figure other stuff out as we go, such as stream, tournament cost/ payout, main platform, advertising/ new threads, etc.

For now I'm looking at showing up at 5ish to set up, 5:30 start playing, and then leaving around 10, although Xanadu is open til 12 if anyone would like to stay. There's a $5 venue fee and I'm bringing a PS4 set up. BYOC, feel free to bring additional set ups (monitor included) on either console.

If you guys are trying to start up the MK scene up there, I'll talk to the other NOVA people to see about coming out every now and then.

BUT, in return you guys gotta start making it down to CFAS in Manassas, VA (Hard Times Cafe, Sudley Road) on Wednesdays occasionally.

That seems fair that way both our scenes can benefit. I'd be down to go down there and if ppl need rides we could work that out. Idk how often I'd be able to make the drive down there because of work but I definitely work something out to make it
