Spoiler alert: you lose
It's called CFAS, short for Console Fighters All Stars, weeklies are held at the same place as the monthly you just mentioned.
Gotcha thanks man, last stupid question, we talking about mkx specifically or fighters in general at hard times, cuz I'm scrub at every fighting game except mkx currently :p

Crusty

Retired forever; don’t ask for games.

MKX is there and we have a bunch of fighters. We're recently rocking SFV there as well. You can bring your own setup for whatever game you want TBQH.

I'm so mad I'm gonna miss the midget wrestling because I'll be out of town tonight.

At the Wednesday weekly it's a general meetup for all fighting games. The hot games right now are SFV, MKX, and Smash, which we hold tournaments for every week. And yes, people often bring setups for other games as well, like Marvel and Blazblue.

Sup ppl, new to the TYM community and def trying to get into the fight scene, be it competitive or casual. Geographically stupid and wondering about any events going on close to loudoun county/fairfax county area, no problem with MD especially if metro can get me there :p
Hey man, Crusty already set you up with most of the info lol, but i'll go into a bit more detail.

Every Wednesday night @ 7pm, CFAS is at Hard Times Cafe on Sudley Road in Manassas, VA, up on the second floor. $5 Venue Fee +$5 Entry Fee per game/tournament. We have MKX as well as SFV, Smash, and usually a Marvel or Anime set up somewhere too. We usually pack up around midnight, but the restaurant is open until 2 am or so. They also run monthly tournaments 1 Saturday every month.

There's also The Hiero Group (THG) Arena every Monday in Waldorf, MD. Starts at 5 pm at the Thai Palace (right off of 301 in the heart of Waldorf). $5 Venue Fee and the Tournament Fee is Free! Not a huge MKX scene, but if you're into SFV, BlazBlue, or Smash, then hit them up. They also have a stream at Twitch.tv/TheHieroGroup.

Finally, there's also Xanadu Games in Arbutus, MD (south Baltimore). Every Thursday at (im not sure, 7? i dont go to this one a lot, too far for a work day for me). If you google "Xanadu Game Shop Baltimore" it'll be the first thing that pops up. They also run monthly tournaments on Saturdays. The next one is April 16th. For the monthlies it's $10 Venue and $10 per game/tournament (same as CFAS).

There are also numerous, much smaller events all the time, but these are the "Big 3" of the DMV.

If you havent already, I highly suggest you join the "DMV Fighting Game Community" on FaceBook. All of these events, the smaller ones, the players, and the TO's share their stuff on there, and makes finding events super easy.

Let me know if you have any questions breh.

ATTENTION

As of today, CFAS is no longer housed at Hard Times Cafe in Manassas, VA. There will be no more CFAS until a new venue is found.

Damn did they kick us out? I was just about to start coming back, i was on hiatus since i started my new job and didnt want to deal with a full commute from dc out to manassas right away but damn. SFV is just a waste of time online and I needed some real offline matches :/

Long story short, yeah. But there are plenty of other weekly events in the area besides CFAS. Xanadu's in Baltimore on Thursdays, The Arena is in Waldorf, MD on Mondays, then there are smaller events, The Cave in Fairfax and CTG somewhere in DC. Also, of course, the occasional game night at someone's place.
