Local Battles and The Kombat Network presents Salty Battles 6... but when?

Hey guys,

I have been absorbing some of the feedback in regards to when Salty Battles is held. When we first burst on the scene back in May we tried to design Salty Battles on a night that many local tournament organizers were not using. Since its amazing growth and success, mainly due to the prevalent Mortal Kombat community, we are considering changing the day that Salty Battles 6 is offered.

Does this mean that it will change for Salty Battles 6? That will depend on the mutual availability of all those involved that work hard to make the event a success but we wanted to provide an avenue for you voices to be heard first. Stream monsters also apply.

Oh no, not a weekday! I normally get home from LB at 4 or 5 am. I have to get up for work a 6am. That would be no es bueno.

I mean, I don't really have a problem with Friday night, but if it were to be moved I would say either of the weekend days is cool.

Jon, as I told you, there are many reasons to hold this on Saturdays instead.

-Friday night is difficult for ANYONE coming from NY.. the traffic is unbearable unless you get done with work at 3pm.

-By doing Salty Battles on Friday night, you actually could be getting in your Salty Sessions on Friday, then Salty Battles on Saturday, effectively increasing revenue.

-Tournaments on a weekend will have a higher turnout than weekday/night tournaments, even Friday night tournaments. We had 41 at SB5 for MK9, but if it weren't on Friday, we may have cracked 50 because of the players that could not make it on time.

Personally, I think that a 3pm start on Saturdays would be best.

If it was on a Saturday I may be able to make it out there. It's like a 3 and a half hour drive for me, which is only a little further than how far I drive for the Gaming ETC tournaments in Connecticut. I'm not making that drive on a Friday night though, lol

I'm leaning towards Saturday, but Sunday is usually the one day I'm guaranteed to have absolutely nothing to do.

I voted for Saturday. But pretty much I can make it late Friday or anytime Saturday. Other than that, I doubt there would be anyway I could attend.

Phil's reasoning for Saturday are very sound in my opinion.

Not for those who have to work Monday and also have to drive a few hrs to get there.

Where do you have to go to sign up for the tournament, this is kinda of new to me so sorry if I sound stupid. Also what console is going to be used at the venue. Might finally be able to show some raiden/skarlet/stryker tech out there if I can make it.

No sign up is necessary. Just bring your game face; you'll be squaring off against many of the best players on earth.

Sign ups are at the door. 10 bucks for venue fee, 10 bucks for the tournament.

Mortal Kombat is played on PS3 while Marvel and SF are on 360.

If it were to be on Saturday, I think I agree with Phil and others that it would be best held in the early afternoon.

I wouldn't be able to attend most Saturdays so Friday is best for me. What about rotating between Friday & Sat each month so it gives flexibility to almost everyone that has different schedules.
