Jokes aside, I still think the kameo gives impressive utility to characters and still worth the 100hp hit. His pushblock sucks though, but I think it's intentional since it feels... experimental.
Like 2% less on average across the board than what she used to do with him. Utility hasn't been touched at all. I think there are clear reasons to pick Janet over Mavado for Li Mei now and vice versa, or even Scorpion but he does seems to be quite weak right now. Like, his overall utility is very low. His rope is useless in this game, and his dmg output could use a tiny bit of a bump tbh.How much is the damage nerf?
Yeah, Janet offers a LOT. However, she's much more complicated to use. Plus, her EXdb3 punish is still difficult to pull off consistently imo.Looking back at janet.
I wasn’t consistently getting the ex db3 punish before so didnt notice how crap her link off it is. Mavados is way better and though ive labbed it properly and you can get ex db4 combos with janet, its like 1/2 times in practice..
I still think mavado is the best.
even with damge nerf you get more damage of poke punish, and actually get damage off exdb4 with a way to cover your ass on block.
on the whole mavado provides the best utility and damage. Though janet still might be better in specific MUs, need to use her puppet more
Does anyone else having issues with the ignited lantern hitbox against crouching opponents? If I ignite a lantern slightly behind them, it whiffsGiven the changes she a is a bit better controlling space with IAFB
I think puppet for Li Mei is a bit of a bill of goods. For other characters who have a capture state move it can be really strong, but it’s just too hard to get out for her.what's the verdict on janet puppet? i've been trying to use it more but it kinda seems like a bill imo. it feels like it can be good in very specific situations (opp in corner + they have no meter + you have full kameo) but even then it's still a bitch to set up. like is there any good way to put it up besides landing f44? i've been trying stuff like after b21 on hit or in neutral backup -> summon -> bf4 + janet shadow kick to cover it, both with limited success. i get they didn't want to put sento in a kameo but the limitations (summon speed, costing full kameo, going away completely if it gets tagged as opposed to sento just taking a rest) and opportunity cost of giving up hop punch gives makes me want to say it's just never gonna be worth it. i wish you could spend a bar to be able to summon at half kameo gauge or something so it could actually get put up after a combo. just wondering if there was anything interesting i was missing.
f44 puppet-3, then 124 in the corner will armour break when they get up. For the armour break setup- i just did that for demonstration im sure theres better.
Basically when you call the kameo you can queue buttons
so do 124 d+K 3 (then hold R2) and do 124 bf4 (release r2 hit 4) and loop.
for bf4 midscreen hit kameo early in the corner late.
most of the combo routes are similar to scorpion so not guna send BNBs
