Let's be honest, where is Darkseid as a character?

Albeit too early to truly make a tier list. Where do you guys put Darkseid as a character? one of the best? a good one? an above average one? average? below average?

I've heard people say he's very average but I disagree, strong zoning game, good teleport, nice setups with his trait, 50/50, solid damage. Only thing is his normals kinda suck.

As of now, in my limited experience, he's an all or nothing character. If the other player doesn't have an answer to his zoning, or you confirm a hard to get b1, stomp, or f23, he dominates. However, if the other player gets in, he gets bodied pretty fast.
He is a pretty defensive, slow character, and nrs tends to punish good blocking more than most games. His normals lose to a lot of other characters' stuff.

Week 1 all zoners are top. Once we learn how to deal with it the numbers should change drastically. Although I will say Fate Deadshot and Darkseid are pretty solid characters

I am optimistic about Darkseid. I like his manner, voice... specials... he doesn't have an advancing mid but does have a solid mid option.what I would like is -having a good way of punishing without having his Parademon out quicker than f2.

Of course this is based on limited experience, but he seems pretty bad. Yeah he's got the damage, but his neutral game is ass. His zoning is decent. Maybe when people start to figure out more trait setups he'll look a but stronger, but right now he can't run and he can't kick. He's just a turd out there.

Honestly I think where he'll end up on the tier list depends on if NRS decides to make f2 a mid come patch season, and if they don't he'll be relegated to low-mid tier.

Tbh i disagree his zoning and counter zoning are god tier imos hes a top 3 zoner his mix is godtiet just do running guy then tele and do insta or delayed low or go for overhead into big boybdamage and zone until trait and he builds a lot of meter.

Top 3 zoning. Huge damage. Great mix. DISGUSTING CORNER GAME. You as a Darkseid player need to excel in neutral or you're going to lose, hard. When you have a character with bad buttons instead of complaining about it you have to make the best of it. Ive been playing Darkseid since day one and so far I've noticed that if you're gonna play him, you need to work on your spacing/neutral or you plummet into the abyss. Character is fairly above average, let's stop downplaying please?

It's hard to play neutral when you get disrespected out of plus frames because your only two worthwhile strings to get any fucking damage from get beat out. Who cares if I'm +10 if all someone has to do is d1d1d1d1 and I end up losing?

This isn't downplaying, dude. It's a legit issue. Yes, he has great mixup POTENTIAL. He has great zoning POTENTIAL. He has great trait setup POTENTIAL. He has great damage POTENTIAL.

P.O.T.E.N.T.I.A.L. That's what he has. He has to be in a favorable situation for any of his potential to come to light, especially if he's going against someone with much better buttons than him or ways to get around his zoning.

Oh, and you even asked for him to have a real mid to compensate him lacking in other areas. So I don't wanna hear it. -_-

he has weakness sure, but I can not see a character that hitting up back makes the opponent have to respond is a bad character.

the only issue I see he has is a tough matchup against a solid super girl who can respond to lasers on reaction and has learned to hit d2 when they see air tele.

I get beat out of teleport on reaction by d1s and d2s all the time. The only time it ever seems safe to do so is if you have your trait out.

Dashing on reaction to his teleport is a solid answer as well.

Oh I know I want that mid, I'd be crazy not to. But in his current state, he still has shit, more than just potential. And until we get that mid, or even if we never do, we have to utilize what we have right now. The more time I've been spending up close ive noticed that our buttons aren't quite non existent. Sure they're below average absolutely but we still have them for uses. I haven't really had an issue with D1 mashing so I have no point of view on that. I get people to respect my plus frames just fine *shrug*

yea I totally agree , and I agree that his main problem seems to be HOW to land those hits. people aint gonna get hit by j3 stomp for much longer and without a decent mid to use outta plus frames that leads to dmg I dont see anybody not mashing d1 against him.

His 2 is garbage, man. It doesn't have bad startup, but it has horrible range and leads to nothing special, really. Not hitconfirm/combo wise, that is.

He has neutral, but it's just not up to snuff compared to pretty much the rest of the cast's.

What are you doing to get people to respect your frames? People probably haven't fully learned to just mash against Darkseid if you think he's gonna fish for damage (f23 or b1u3) after being plus.
