After the sparks you can also JIP then B2. I find myself doing that more often.

You can, but unless you've spaced the lead up to sparks properly it can be tricky, ji1 doesn't jail into b2 reliably, and I've had issues timing ji2, hit box on it is really deceptive.

I prefer to sacrfice 1% damage and be more consistent after the df3EX..I wont go for the njp-run-...
I do df3EX-f1-12-bd4-... waaay easier

Yup, RIP. Leave it to Netherrealm to remove an honest vortex but keep a 43% 1 bar combo off a 7f starter. Sometimes, I just don't understand @colt
