Maybe, i don't doubt that might deal more chip while active, since scorpions flame aura has this hability

From what it looks like, the sword will probably do hella chip damage...
If the blood cut acts like venom does on bane, every tick of the multi-hitting carve moves will get a bonus.
That would be quite... devastating.
