Coming off of what was undoubtedly the biggest tournament in Injustice's history, the cast of KTP breakdown all of this weekends hype in detail. We talk about the importance of NEC for our community's health and the improvements and effects of the latest balance patch. New characters proved viable and some old dominant ones no where to be seen in top 8, a new landscape for the Injustice tournament scene emerges. For some competitors it is judgement day we talk about some of the key upsets and blowups. All this and more on our special NEC results episode.

The magnitude of NEC and the time to fully encapsulate it in a podcast made me think that KTP was, understandably, gonna have a hard time showing it's face. At least in an abrupt manner. Thankfully, you guys were on point. Thank you.

Awesome podcast.. A lot of good points were made -- it's 100% true that the action from this tournament was everything people could ask for and more. It was incredible.

(Lol at "why fool yourself into saying it's a burger" and K7 "What if they're dead").

I want to make sure not to unfairly blow up KDZ though; his enthusiasm helped carry and push the game, and he went to more locals, regionals, and majors than pretty much anyone else who plays IGAU.

His dedication and hard work leading up to EVO can't be erased; neither can his enthusiam in organizing and running The Break tournament and helping to attract people to train and play the game; so regardless of whether he's focused on the game right now or not or what character he played, we should just be a community and make peace.

At least that's how I feel. Same for MK, there were diff. people that helped carry the game through diff. parts of its tournament life.

And also, REO was Top 8 at SJ, top 2 at Infinite Crisis, etc. before the patch when everyone else got nerfed -- so he was playing against prepatch Superman, BA, Batman, etc.

No one else is even placing at majors or regionals with MMH, pre or post patch.. So that's why REO's name gets brought up; not just because he's REO.

I'm listening now...and I must say, K7 sounded utterly shocked that a HawkGirl beat a Superman. I'd like to point out that it has been well known in the HG community that she went EVEN against pre-patch Superman and now she BEATS post-patch Superman. PPJ was very smart to use HG against both SM and Grundy..she beats them both. ;)

KDZs first loss after winning EVO was to a Hawkgirl at the Break no? And some have said she does well against him for quite some time now. I've always thought she's fine. However my opinion on her should not be taken to heart as I would like to rip off her wings and tap dance in her blood, but that's just me.

Yeah, he did lose to a somewhat random HawkGirl. I used to blow people up who would simply dismiss her as a character. If you can't take her out of the air SHE WILL WIN. If you can take her out of the air, she can handle her own on the ground. She has a very underrated ground game. She is a very sound and unique character.

I agree. I never felt at any point in time that she needed buffs, and apparently NRS felt the same. Another adjective I'd add is annoying. She's annoying if not for the sole reasons of:
a)Insurance inquiries
b)Foolish Hawkgirl players who DO know how to play the game but AREN'T the best players DO get blown the fuck up by me, but after taking the entire match timer to zero necessarily. 12 seconds left and you have no chance of winning just get the fuck out of the air and try your luck at actual combos!!!!!! I HAVE GODDAMN THINGS TO DO!

May seem silly to complain when I win all the time against HG but my God is it annoying...
