Dangers didnt make KI... What really made ki so awesome were the cool chars, sick art style, hype announcer, hype soundtracks, awesome long combo system etc
I actually wouldnt mind if they leave out dangers tbh, ultra finishers and maybe ultimate should be enough.
yea i meant ultimates....not the fatals i mean the fatals where u combo into the ultimates

So I just watched these streams. 2-3 things I don't like so far:

1. fullscreen = jump in range lol. How is zoning even possible. Every time Jago tried to use fireball from fullscreen the opponent could just jump in or go under on reaction and blow him up for a full combo. So yeah from the looks of it I don't see how zoning can be viable in KI.

2. The opponent can walk up to you between rounds completely negating your position/neutral advantage. That's gonna make it even harder if not impossible to keep rushdown/grappler characters out.

3. Ultra trait cancel into Ultra is dumb and does absolutely nothing so I'm not sure why they're talking about it like it's an amazing feature. The ability to trait cancel is cool. But doing two ultras in a row is pretty silly and pointless. But I guess casuals are going to enjoy doing that.

Other than that the game looks fun I guess. I'd like to try it out sometime but it seems like I would get bored of it pretty quickly. Hopefully the other characters are more interesting because I'm not digging Jago or Sabrewulf at all.

The animation, art style, and graphics all looks awesome but it looks like it's just "combos, the game" the back and forth is stupid.

Well, it's Killer Instinct -- I'm sure there will be zoning, but this game is not about just playing keep-away forever; so you'll likely have to think when you zone and also be able to mix it up when the action gets close.

Personally I think that's in keeping with the spirit of the game -- I don't see something like trying to get in on a Kabal iAGB for 35 seconds fitting with the theme of KI.

In SF4 zoning is more about making reads/reactions and being ready to use footsie/AA tools at any given moment than just spamming stuff from 3 miles away, because you're never very far from your opponent, a lot of projectiles move slowly, a bunch of people have moves that go through projectiles, and the non-ex projectiles cancel each other out anyway. I think that's more of the spirit they'll be trying to go for in this game.

Likewise with your point about the ultra cancel; KI has always been about swag, doing silly over-the-top stuff, and seeing just how many hits you could pack in. Playing it is just as much about style/humiliation points as fundamentals. It's something that's always been in the franchise and it wouldn't make sense to take it away here.

Ultra into Ultra? I think so!

nvm the guy cearly said it: There will be no zoning characters in this game, just "balance", "rushdown" and "grappler". So the only form of zoning is basically footsies: Fishing with pokes into specials for chip/meter build etc.

That's fine with me but sucks for a good chunk of the FGC who won't enjoy this game at all haha.

In another interview he said there will be characters with strong zoning tools. But likely mixed zoning rather than 'pure zoner' style characters given the style of the game. He compared it to SF4 and I think that makes the most sense.

Many people view things too personally and fail to see the big picture through biased glasses..EVERYTHING in the new KI model fits... Lets examine shall we?

1) Dev has a less than stellar game history and has never done a fighter before-
While true, majority of their titles are movie tie-ins (which over 90% are terrible regardless), not to mention they don't have a POOR track record when it comes to fighters- so realistically they are a clean slate and by the way it sounds.. Have put together a staff that knows, pays homage and learns from past fighters (that sounds excellent to me)..Conversely you could have an issue like Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City- where Capcom chose Slant Six (who DID titles like this prior and did not have a good track record) the result? A sub par game (putting it nicely)
2)So they are not proven fighter vets? THE GAME IS FREE ON LAUNCH!! Sure it's just Jago, but you get the opportunity to play it, feel it, make your own informed decision.. Does it play like your favorite fighter?! Does it feel great?! Terrific- buy the full game and enjoy! The game feel terrible? The game not meet your standards? Simply delete it from your system and walk away..

KI appears to be a solid and tight game from what has been seen and from reports coming from E3...The dev's are really giving the community a voice as far as what they are willing to do (if fans want stages: they will make stages, more characters/costumes....They are willing to do it all). A dev spoke to Maximilian and mentioned seasons of KI (whereas this gen is typically 1 season pass and onto the next game) One of the most important things I've taken from that interview is the fact that they are trying to "GROW A COMMUNITY" and make it tourney viable as well.. And with MS willing to work with them... Hell, I played KI back in the arcade days.. I was nowhere devoted as I was to SF & MK... But you cannot help but be hype for this kind of game!

The game looks crazy good, I hope to see orchid char too in the game.
I would like to have the option of doing the the no mercy at the end of a fight. I was thinking in the training room for recording combos, after you record your combo it would display your button inputs at the bottom screen from left to right on playback. So if you share it out your friends can see what inputs you did on the bottom of the screen.

Yeah those finishing moves in killer instinct where the only thing that really didnt interest me, mk's fatalitys where way better back then. killer instincts danger moves where just cheesy rip offs from mk.
Not hating on KI tough, i loved everything else. :p
