Lets say you don't have the cash for the full game, but you want to play it anyway or try it out. You try it w/ Jago and you end up liking it.. But maybe you're pretty casual, or you aren't really into the entire cast. So you buy a couple characters that you're really attracted to. Problem solved

Over time, maybe you decide to dig in deeper and explore more, and so you grab more characters. Or, if not, you only spent $10-15 or whatever on the entire experience.

It sounds smart to me -- it will allow this game to be enjoyed by a range of diff. types of gamers.

Whoa, whoa..

They said they'd be focusing on core gameplay for now given that the game is in Pre Alpha (which is smart), and then they'd add finishers and whatnot throughout the course of development according to what the fans want.

Dangers didnt make KI... What really made ki so awesome were the cool chars, sick art style, hype announcer, hype soundtracks, awesome long combo system etc
I actually wouldnt mind if they leave out dangers tbh, ultra finishers and maybe ultimate should be enough.

Yes it does. You fall down, the round ends, you get back up and it says Fight. Real KI you get bodied.

You fall down, the timer continues, you get back up with a new health bar and your opponent's bar stays. Just like KI1/2 and Injustice.
