Mid knives can at least contest his zoning, the parties are so-so considering liu has great mid and low starters (unlike vs for instance JC where you can yolo parry mid/high for days). But I haven't played this MU much

It is green and when you break a combo with Kano , the green sparks animation is beautiful.
I think commando is a better zoner then both variations (hard to say with cyber) in some aspects. It has the better knives and also the godlike b1. So I agree with commando as the change.

But trying to counterzone isn't worth it because you lose that trade every time. If you're going to contest his zoning you may as well use Commando or even Cutthroat since the knives in those variations do more damage. If you don't want to contest his zoning then you can just instant air ball over the low on reaction or duck under and advance against instant air fireball. The point of the parries are to slow down his pressure, even just the threat of them is enough to make them hesitant and that gives you an opening. If you're right that's almost 20% meterless in Commando compared to mid 20s for a bar in any variation. It's not as easy to find an opening with the other two imo.
Yeah I hate this MU but at least he can't low profile your mid knives with his low fireball iirc. Commando is probably stronger though as you say. The fear of parties also opens them for reversal command grab so they can't abuse slight plus frames

I mean Predator, Scorpion and Liu Kang already do well against him, but Quan, Lao, Tanya, Mileena, Ermac and Shinnok also do well against him.To preface this... I'm not a Kano player, but I've played thousands of matches vs. Kano (95% Cybernetic) since a buddy of mine and I picked up the game in July. Yeah, thousands... as in probably 3-4 by now. Fast-forward 5 months - I've now got pretty decent experience with a handful of different characters (Goro, Predator, Jason, Raiden, Scorpion, and Liu Kang)... but my buddy still plays Cybernetic almost exclusively. I know the matchups like the back of my hand and have had a lot of success against Kano across all the chars I've played, with winrates ranging from the 50s to as high as an 80% at times.
With that in mind, I'm posting here not looking for advice on how to play against Kano, but for perspectives on the worst matchups against the character. Truth be told, because I've had to play him so much I'm sick to death of facing him. Haha. I've asked (implored) my bud to try learning some different chars so we can have more diverse gameplay but so far he hasn't bothered. I'm hoping with your help I can find the worst possible matchup, learn that character, and whip him so bad he feels compelled to finally learn a different character.

Yeah it can but it must be timed accurately and to the point, otherwise you're eating a full combo off of it.
Lmao Sun God is the cheese. Better pressure and better damage than Commando. Kotal's footsie normals are on par so objectively, SG blows Commando out of the water.
