Im in the I think Kano is fine club. There are characters in a way worse boat yet this forum acts like he's mk9 kano

Cutthroat is fine, I don't think anyone here doubts that Cutthroat could definitely win a tournament.

The main problem is that Cybernetic Kano was prematurely nerfed because he had a 9 frame B1 that was 0 on block that block infinited some characters in the corner if they had no meter. Now that move is -2 and had a huge nerf in recovery and all the other characters have gotten buffs to their pokes while Kano got no buffs in return while characters like Tanya have moves that are +2 on block and start up in 10 frames which is better than prepatch B1. He doesn't do anything really well besides have good footsies, but it doesn't lead into anything besides some whatever pressure.

And commando just doesn't belong in this game.

I don't think he can. Too many characters do what he does but better. Even someone like Kung Jin who has fallen from grace in terms of turnout still does cutthroats gameplay better than cutthroat.

For myself I only play cutthroat in Kotal's god fucking awful matches as Kotal still does everything short of throwing a projectile way better than Kano.

If a character like Reptile(who is worse than Kano) is capable of getting top 8 at Evo, then Kano is doing fine.

I think everyone exaggerates the differences in the tiers, it's not actually that bad. Almost every character in this game has the ability to compete.

Reptile ain't great but hes better than Kano. I've said this many times but on paper Kano isn't awful, he is just so underwhelming and many characters are better at his same shtick.

There won't be anyway for me to convince you on this fact since everything we say will just be a battle of who's better on paper lol. But that's just my opinion

Man basically what im saying is ive been up all night for the sf5 beta and its still not up, at least give me some kano buffs to make me feel better about it.

Yes. What if he had a mode like Sonya's military stance where he could drop a grenade on top of you or below you for a mixup? He could also have a command grab where he throws something like a glue grenade below you so you can't move and then bam, 40% combo just like that.

I've read a couple times that Kano mains are not complaining about him, that's not true at all.

I am stubborn, I love the character, I will remain a Kano main, I am realistic though.

Kano is ass in this game.

I have learned how to mask a lot of his weaknesses, which took me many losses to figure out but I've done it.

With that said, in a set, against a decent player, I will lose 9/10 times because of character and not because of skill.

I have proof of this because I go to local tournaments, I play online, I use a different character and I won't drop a single game to some guys on my local scene, I use Kano who I've played since day 1 and I will win less then half the games we play.

I consistently lose to people I know I am better than, simply because of character.

Kano is not a good character and I'm super tired of some of the Kano mains letting your pride cloud reality.

Let's be honest, that is absolutely all it is boiling down to and your only hurting Kano's cause, in no way are you helping this character by being so pridefully biased.

The problem lies in wanting to prove everyone wrong, a lot of you probably feel like you could walk right into a major and place Top 3 with Kano, nobody plays Kano right by you, etc, etc...

Stop.

This isnt reality and I'm so tired of seeing this same song and dance out of some of you.

Its OK to admit that the character you play isn't a good character overall. That isn't a knock on you or your character as an Individual, it just simply means Kano isn't a good option for tournament play right now, maybe he can get a little love so that can be a reality In the future.

Set the pride aside and start voicing the reality, only way change will ever happen.

People like, Rude. I have a lot of respect for someone that understands his error and adjusts accordingly, there is nothing wrong with that, self growth is a big facet in life, you either want it or you don't.

Pride is a huge hinderence of that important process of life.

Kudos to a lot of you in this thread, shame, shame, shame on many others.

The Commando one is awesome. It just takes a different mindset to play Commando.

Crazy thing is I think that Ninjitsu and Hellfire are completely viable and way better overall characters than numerous other characters that we did see represented well at Evo.

Kano has always lacked popularity and lacked tournament representation in competitive mk when compared to most other characters but freaking scorpion is the games cover art. Even after the 214 cancel advantage nerfs he is unquestionably still good in hellfire, just now hes not bordering on broken with guaranteed chip damage. And they massively buffed ninjitsu in that same patch. Yes inferno still sucks but I don't get the lack of scorp representation in tournament? Makes no sense to me. Its not like everyone is only playing top 5 characters, we had a rarely used quan variation in top 8 winners and a reptile in top 8 for gods sake (and almost a mileena)

Not sure if this is true, but I think I read somewhere that B1 was actually +2 when it was supposed to be 0, yet for some reason NRS just brought it down 4 frames to -2. If it's true, then it being 0 on block with all the low poke buffs across the cast would have been fine.

Moves that were +2 like Kung Jin's 11(I think it's 11) or Liu Kang's F21 which was +3, said that they were + in game. Kano's B1 said it was 0 so I don't think was true. Paulo said that "some moves were accidentally made +2 or 0 on block like Kano's b1" and I think people from there automatically assumed it +2. I didn't test it out but that seems to be the case.
