Da beauty of jax is dat he ain't bad as Johnny (who is terrible) his variations are all pereference based......hw gives u most options, wrstlr gives u dmg, pmp gives opportunity to not deal w/ wake up......in wrstlr & pmp u wanna end blk strings in energy wave so u can be positive

am trying to learn jax because I need to force myself to truly learn the run mechanic.
what would a good variation to start with?

What fo you guys think variation tier looks like, i prefer hw...do you think they should change brutality for slam brutality in wrestler variation and input command

I would start with Pumped up since it's the easiest to learn and there is a great guide that is stickied to help you get started in that variation. After you get comfortable with that variation, learn Heavy Weapons/Wrestler.

so i dont know if you jax players know this or seen it but it turns out he has a third fatality, im guessing he got it with the new dlc pack but do any of you know about it or how to perform it?

the classic fatalities r performed classically lol, some will have original inputs from older games

Could any of you lovely Jax mains explain to me what the general plan is with Heavy Weapons Jax when at Midscreen and in The corner? I have played a bit with him offline and online and I usually use f21, 11 , d1d2, f2 grab when I'm Midscreen and I tend to go a bit nuts in the corner.

I tend to do rocket cancels when I can as well

Noob post incoming: I'm having trouble with the run mechanic in this game. This is the first NRS title I've played (I played MK as a kid but as a dumb kid, I wasn't good and never used run.) It really affects my Jax main, I use wrestler Jax and I realized that using run totally changes Jax as a character. I can actually get in close with people without having to use dash punch to close space. How do I get good at and used to using running within the confines of the game? As an aside, where is all the wrestler Jax love? He is imo, the best variation, the damage outweighs having to deal with wakeups and being able to end blockstrings on command grabs is a god send! I know that you can do this in other variations but the options for command throws really does it for me.

For Wrstlr jax, running is free to close in, Now if u wanna improve ur run usage then use HW jax......like my previous comment: jax has no bad variations its all preference Wrstlr-damage, Hw-pressure & tricks, PmpU- if u don't wanna deal with wakeups....

I think pumped up is more damaging than wrestler

Plus on block.
Pumped up and Wrestler are about the same damage-wise, they're both good and play differently wether or not one is better comes down to how you like to play.

Pumped Up isn't as gross in the corner but Super-Gotcha regular and EX hit big for very little work.

And of course the Pumped Up ground pound/air-drill brings some extra utility to the table.

I'd love to play as Jax, because he's so awesome. But I cannot play as him until they bring Carl Weathers back into the studio to say "GOTCHA".
But seriously, I can't quite figure out what the hell to do midscreen. at this point I just D1, D4, 11, 12(and 3), and F21. I couldn't link these in some way to make a combo though. So what should I be trying to do here?

123xxdb1 does 23% in Pumped Up, assuming you practiced your button mashing skills in the Test Your Might tower.


Also, F21, 12, 11, b2, and 23 can be cancelled into ex overhead dash punch, which you can combo off of.

Huh, never thought to play pumped up. I picked up Wrasslor, and I love it, but messing with pumped up it really has its advantages too. And thanks on the EX overhead smash, I didn't really think about it because 12 was easy off it, but 123 was seemingly imposssible

Hi, I have a thread that should be a main place to figure out your next character to main or sub. It needs more info from the different character specialists of the community. The characters are split into 3 categories: Rushdown, Zoning, Footsies/Neutral. Come in and give some insight on how the character should play. I'd really appreciate it if some of the Jax mains could come by and shed some light on the character.
