Can someone please explain the alleged f4~b4. I can't seem to make anything at all happen after f4.
Wait for Jacqui to scream while running before you hit the b4/b2 and you should get it consistently.

Just double checked, she is more grunting at the start, but whatever. When she starts to make noise is when you hit the button lol.

Wow, after a long set with @m2dave, I've gotta say that Cybernetic Kano matchup is not looking great. I'll be the first to admit that Dave is a much better player than myself, but Kano's d4, b2, and backdash completely shut down Jacqui's footsie options. She can't f12, she can't b2, she can't d3, she can't f4; really the only move I was having much luck with was her bf1, which deals a measly 9% but is full-combo punishable on block. She loses the zoning war pretty hard, though she can absorb MB knives, which is pretty cool, but not something she'll be able to do on reaction.

I need to go into the lab and look at Kano's frame data, because I was getting caught in some pretty nasty frame traps, especially in the corner.

I was able to do ok against Commando Kano because Jacqui can duck the high knives and retaliate, and it can be hard to get in on her. But against Cybernetic, where the impetus is on her to get in, I'm simply at a loss.
Kano knife zoning is better then Jacqui zoning in full auto. Played a Kano that zoned me out the full game. You have to get in

This character is so fun. =O It just seems a little difficult to get her up close game started. But maybe that's just me. I've only been using her for a day, so I'm sure I have plenty more to learn.

You have to hold b4 until it actually comes out. So f4, then press and hold b4 and don't press any other input. It's really dumb. It can link into a special, but you can't start the command for the special until she actually starts the low kick, and then you have what seems to be a frame or 2 to do the entire special cancel.

General strategy? Patience. Creep your way in and once your in jump range, bait him to come towards you, walk back, make him whiff and punish. Rinse and repeat. Absorb will build a lot of meter and you could literally x-ray him twice in one match if he's throwing knives non stop.
I'll have to experiment with Absorb a bit more, but it didn't seem that great against Dave (though I've never had to use it before, so I'm sure I just suck with it).

As far as patience and creeping in, that does no good for Jacqui in this matchup. Kano's footsie game just totally obliterates her. I spent upwards of 8 hours yesterday holding my own against Kung Jins and Erron Blacks without Machine Gun, relying solely on her awesome footsies. @Name v.5.0 @BrobaChett Erron could be rough, but Kung Jin could be consistently punished. With Kano, I think I might have whiff punished one time in my 20+ set with Dave. Kano's backdash, b2, forward dash, and d4 don't allow Jacqui enough space to whiff punish. As in, Kano can hang out outside of her f12 range, and even if she backdashes correctly for a punish, his b3 and dash-d4 come out far enough and fast enough to beat her out every single time. Combine that this surprise knives, throws, interrupted block strings, and it's a battle she simply can't win. It's like hanging out in Kung Jin's b1 range; it doesn't matter how on point you are, eventually he's going to get through.

This kind of goes without saying, but you also can't jump in on Kano due to his elbow-blade normal (b1?). It's an amazingly consistent anti-air.

You don't have to hold it, just time it right and you can't do yer special cancels normally.

Jacqui can't play footsie with Kano. When i play characters with better footsie. I mostly rush down with overhead and low starters with a little zoning. You can't out zone Kano with full auto Jacqui he's just to good.

lol foxy grampa just raped my jacqui (full auto) with his lao. i think its impossible to zone lao and his normals are much faster.
i would love to see an highlevel jacqui player fighting lao. i cant find anyone its maybe too early
i would say this mu is 10-0 lol

really? lets say her f12 string
for me hit-confirm means if the f1 hit then i perform a full combo. if f1 doesn't hit then i just do f12 oder make f12 safe (f12~df2) or something
i think this is not possible, but i will try it again.
First note that both F1 and F12 are completely safe and 0 on block (I actually think F1 is +1). F1 is not hit confirmable but F12 is easily hit conformable into DB2 for FA or 2+4 in SG (I'm not familiar with HT combos but I'm sure there is something as well)

It is strict timing but you can land a D1 or D3 after F12 for further pressure (especially in FA vs males). You can also go into another F12, grab, overhead, etc. once you have conditioned your opponent. In other words, F12 is awesome.

The main reasons you would stop at F1 is to keep your opponent guessing when they expect the 2 to come out with the above suggestions, or to whiff punish into metered damage which you wouldn't need to hit confirm.

Her othe strings such as B33, 121 (2), B2 are either hit conformable or have an option select to make them safer.

So I'm making a bit of progress on the Kano MU. It's impossible to practice the footsies without playing an expert like @m2dave, but as far as zoning goes:
  • Advanced Tech can be ok if you have a life lead, but it doesn't allow you to gain any momentum of your own. Kano's knives come out fast enough that he's already throwing another one before you've recovered from absorbing the last one, so you really don't have time to gain any ground. If you mistime the move, you usually can still block the next knife and eat the 1.63 chip. If you absorb a knife within jump range, you can safely go for a jump-in2 or ji3, but you have to be weary of Kano's amazing anti-airs.
  • MB advanced tech is a waste of meter in this MU. You'll burn a meter, Kano will get hit by his knife, but his next knife will hit you as well. Not recommended.
  • bf1 can be used as a reversal and will catch Kano if he isn't blocking for 9%. However, on hit it send him full screen, which is not where you want him, and on block it gives him a full-combo punish. Not recommended.
  • Air Ground Smash is already kind of a useless move, and that's even more the case in this MU. If Kano is mindlessly spamming knives, they will catch you before you hit the ground. If he's not, AGS will whiff unless you are within range of his amazing anti-air attacks. Not recommended. *NOTE* This move has the interesting property of lowering Jacqui's hitbox to the point where Kano's mid-hitting knives will actually pass over her!!! Right now this seems about as viable as using Advanced Tech, but it could prove worth exploring in this and other MUs.
  • MB Bionic dash is a dumb fucking move and should be deleted from the game. Never recommended under any circumstances. Serious, fuck this dumb-ass move.
  • MB Gauntlet Strike is ok when you're within Kano's d4 range, otherwise it will armor through a knife and give Kano a full-combo punish. Not recommended against zoning; recommended against footsies.
  • Hand Cannon: It's ok to throw this out to keep Kano in check, but he can just duck it and continue chucking knives. If it trades, you will typically deal 4% while he deals 5%. You will lose the zoning war, so use this sparingly to keep him in check while you work your way in. Against other characters you can train them to neutral-duck and then just run up and pressure, but Kano's d4 completely cancels out this strategy. Use sparingly.
  • Rocket Power: From max range it will trade in your favor with knife spam. However, after a blocked knife Kano has enough time to back-dash or jump in for a full-combo punish. he can even backdash after a blocked d4 and the rocket will still whiff.

Kung lao is cheap, can punish everyone in the game with ex spin.
