Elder God
Well, maybe he just wants a bit more defensive protection, what after being utterly obliterated by the Elder Gods. Never know when they might pull something like that again.
Muscles = defense, armour only takes away from it.

Like this is even basically MK lore, in MK annihilation jax realized his robot arms were holding him back so he ripped them off to fight motaro the old fashion way!!!!!!!

According to WB Support on Amazon US, the Premium Edition comes with a steelbook and a Kombat Pack.

What is a battle pass? Will mk11 require a monthly subscription to play online? What does that mean?
There is no way they would make people who are already playing for stuff like PlayStation Plus/Xbox Live/Nintendo Switch Online also have to pay for a monthly subscription just for their game.

What Battle Passes are exactly are unknown, but there are many games lately that are using something with the same name so I'm assuming NRS/WB is just kinda piggybacking off of them.

Battle Passes in other games usually work like this: you get a bunch of new challenges (for the sake of explaining let's just say 35 in total), and each challenge gives you either experience -- which is used to go up a "tier" and by doing so gives you a reward -- or just completely skips that part and just gives you a reward directly for each challenge. How this could work in MK11 would be something like: 35 challenges with set rewards. Hard challenges give you completely unique gear you can't get anywhere else, Medium challenges give you Koins to buy lootboxes for new gear (kinda like Injustice 2), Easy challenges give you Easy Fatalities and stuff like that. Basically it would just give you a bunch of new stuff to tackle and the end goal is to get this really cool unique gear, but there are a bunch of small rewards in between these big unlocks that way it will feel like you are unlocking something constantly.

If you don't know, games like Fortnite are using Battle Pass systems so NRS/WB are probably just trying to put something in that is popular right now. Fortnite is a free-to-play game, though, and the Battle Passes are timed and expire when the Season ends. MK11 will most likely ditch that because there is no way they are going to give you something that will expired after a limited time when a "Season" is over. It would probably just be permanent challenges added to the game to give people more stuff to do, maybe you will even be able to beat them by playing single player.

Of course this is 100% speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if this were the case. Right now we will just have to see what happens.

If this turns into a Fortnite-esque thing, I will be in love. A Battle Pass in Fortnite is exclusive content only available for X amount of days until the season ends (Battle Pass ends).

Put it this way.... if NetherRealm started a Battle Pass thing with Mortal Kombat 11... the game would NOT die after 2 years. The content flow keeps going.

Assuming that Battle Passes don't add permanent challenges into the game like I mentioned above this comment, then how would it work exactly?

New content could only be added to the game if they keep making new content, or they make a ton of gear but then sit on it so they can trickle it out via Battle Passes for years while working on a new game -- but I don't think that is very likely. So even if Battle Passes are timed, they would only do them for like a year post launch mostly likely (before they push their new game) and it will end up being about the same lifespan.

Also, if these are included in the Kombat Pack, how can they not be permanent? I don't think NRS is going to make you pay $40 for 6 fighters and a bunch content that is going to expire if you don't grind to get them quickly. The content could even expire before you even get the game, example: you get the Kombat Pack 5 months after release so Season 1 and 2 Battle Passes have already ended, so for your money you would only be getting Season 3-6. You would be paying money for content you can no longer gain, no way NRS will do that.

Last thing: one of the reasons why Battle Passes work the way they do in Fortnite is because it's a free-to-play game so they want people to buy limited time passes with cool costumes in them every single Season so they can actually make money from the game. MK11 is a $60 title with a $40 Season Pass -- which most likely isn't going to include Shao Kahn and whatever non-Season Pass bonus they come out with (like eSports prize-pot charity shaders) -- so you can assume like another $15 at least in other DLC. The game, if you were to buy everything when it comes out, will end up costing $100+ for sure. If NRS makes content that is pretty expensive limited time only on top of a $99 edition of the game with Shao Kahn as a pre-order bonus, this game will flop hard and I think they know that.

You're correct on many levels.... I really don't know how NRS is going to do this. I just hope they have some kind of plan to sustain this game rather than repeat their history.

Agreed.

If you go to the Amazon product FAQ I linked above, someone asked what the Kombat Pack was and a WB Support account said that details on the Kombat Pack are coming during the Reveal Event. So I guess we will know NRS' post launch plans the same time they are actually showing the game, which is good.

For the Shokan since Mk3
Mortal Kombat 11 will allow you to customize how your fighters look and you will also be able to create new variations for them -- which contain new moves. So in a way you will be able to personalize your movesets.
However I guarantee that in tournament and ranked matches this feature will be disabled

Too old for this
Already thought it was hinted at in the trailer via the wall kombo, but now im almost sure of it: Kreate-A-Fatality is back, that or something similar
Yes, seeing as "GoreTech" is its own word this is most likely some form of procedural violence. I like that term by the way; procedural violence.

THEY UPDATED THE PAGE

It says this now:

"The famous saga of Mortal Kombat is back with a new chapter ... and it's more exciting than ever. The innovative character customization variants give you unprecedented freedom of action to equip your fighters with the characteristics you want. The new graphic engine highlights all the peculiarities of the most violent clashes, giving you the impression of being in the heart of the fight. Also continues the phenomenal mode of film history of the series, which features both old acquaintances and new fighters and is preparing to amaze the fans of this saga that has lasted for over 25 years.
Additional Contents
The Premium Edition includes:
- Game
- Kombat Pass
"

Sounds like they changed it to the generic description that all other stores are using. They either changed it because 1) They received a complaint from WB/NRS, or 2) It was false information so how.

We will have to wait for more details.

EDIT: They took down the Shao Kahn render. Knowing that, I think the info was legit but they put everything up to early or something like that.

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
Seems like GS always fuck up with these things? lol But to our pleasure hehe. Is it me or does this Shao Kahn look like MK Annihilation Shao Kahn a little? Maybe it's the mask sculpt, design something about it but I love how his hands are more demonic looking as oppose to human looking.

I put the page into Google Translate, here's the entire thing. I will Bold important details:

"Mortal Kombat is back and is more fit than ever in this new and fantastic evolution of the iconic title. Now you can customize the variants of your fighters down to the smallest detail, gaining unprecedented control over the aesthetics of the characters. The new graphic engine renders in the smallest details every crushed skull and torn heart, immersing yourself completely in the action of the most bloody scenes. In addition, the new list of fighters includes unpublished characters and the Klassics of the series, protagonists of fantastic movies in the story mode of the epic saga that has been going on for more than 25 years.

- New game engine, with even more bloody and bloody scenes
- New personalization system, with clothes, accessories and move sets never seen before
- New Fatality as well as a new GoreTech system to make the performances even more brutal
- Very strong multiplayer component, entirely oriented towards the esports: personalization systems, daily news, constantly updated rewards and an improved matchmaking

Additional Contents
The Premium Edition includes:
- Steelcase
- Kombat Pass: 6 characters & 6 Battlepass
"

Customization sounds like it has the potential to be even better than Injustice 2. You will be able to customize your character's clothing, accessories, moveset and really get into the "smallest details". Maybe you will be able to do things like apply shaders to a specific piece of gear vs. putting it on the entire outfit? I think this could be the case because Scorpion in the screenshots is seen with white boots and a red loincloth, which I thought looked kinda weird.

Then there is the eSports thingy. I wonder if "personalization" systems are? Maybe instead of basic player cards we can actually have player pages or something? Constantly updated rewards and improved matchmaking is good, maybe the rewards will make people want to play online more. I'm hoping that the "eSports" and improved matchmaking thing means we will get a proper Ranked system now.
That KUSTOMIZATION info makes me so happy, can you imagine? That's what I wanted for I2 but since MK are their characters fully, WB probably said "we own the rights to you guys and DC, but MK unlike DC is your baby NRS so do what you want" which makes me beyond fucking happy.

So we should see purple Scorpion's, yellow Ermac's and Green Sub-Zeros if we choose. Hell, everyone's characters online won't look nearly the same, maybe similar but not identical you know? Man and you know there has to be that same I2 option where you can keep the looks of your custom character but with competitive mode on, without gears, extra moves etc. That goretech thing has me wondering hmmmm what the hell can that mean? GORE-tech? So can't wait for Jan 17th

It is 100% legit, it confirmed some other stuff sites that aren’t TYM didn’t mention, like the Steelbook. As a former GameStop employee, I can say they get PR stuff early so they can get it out the second it goes official. Smaller scale but I knew about MKX weeks prior because we got the preorder posters in way before E3

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
So the battle pass thing is really just a form of DLC that's for a limited time? They sell the fortnite DLC stuff exclusively now in retail places Gamestop, BB, Target, Walmart etc, etc so something like that?

I just hope it doesn't take as long to unlock gear moves like I2, and not just so random. I mean I don't mind random but I hate how some people get the cooler shit in a day and others takes weeks. They need to balance that out IMO so it comes out more consistently, faster etc and I want there to be an option to buy all the costumes, shaders and cosmetic stuff IF we want. I'd drop extra cash for it, especially since I've been busy with work lately just a pain in the ass to get time to play but MK I'd make the time of course. Can't wait to make Mythologies Fujin!!
