In Memory of Arez God of War

It breaks my heart to inform you all, of the passing of my best, Eric Frantz. He passed away in the early morning hours of July 29th, from the effects of long term alcoholism. I've known Eric since we were 14 years old, and thrown into the juvenile system.

As some of you may know, he could be rather combative sometimes, and that's exactly how we met. I was detained for fighting, and anyone they roomed me with, got their butts kicked around the room by me. With Eric, it was exactly the same thing, so they put us together, expecting that if we were gonna beat the crap out of someone, we could beat the crap out of each other, and save them some headache... But it just made matters worse. For the first 3 days, it was a war zone, we were wrestling and scrapping all over the place, sometimes keeping the whole center up, until the wee hours of the morning with our carrying-on. From their, we became the best friends we've ever had.

It's going to be a tremendously trying time, because I've heard from him almost daily, for the last 26 years....and this is the longest I've gone without hearing from him. I'll try and keep you all informed, as to what will be happening as to a memorial or the final diagnosis. Thanks for being such great friends to my Homie. He's going to be sorely missed. <\3

I saw it after I posted. I'm not really in the best thinking shape, if you feel me. I haven't been able to call her yet. I didn't think it would be too helpful to her, for me to sobbing uncontrollably over the phone at her.
Yeah I had to get off the phone because that's what I started doing even though she said I could talk if I needed to. We spoke regularly and were pretty close friends so this hit hard. Thanks for posting the pics.

No dount, B. I know how close you were. He was always talking about you. I literally used to get dozens of texts from him each week. He was desperately trying to get me into KI, but he just wouldn't listen when I told him it was a Windows update issue. LoL! Classic Eric. He was my Right brain, my left hand man. I was the left brain, the right hand. Now, I'm just me... Lost. I broke in a way, that I don't think will ever be able to be fixed.

I have more photos, they're just too big, and I haven't downsized them yet.

This is terrible man and I am so sorry for tour loss and as I said before on another thread his family.
As a recovering alcoholic myself I hate to hear this as it’s an all too common thing in recovery. I don’t know if he ever wanted to or tried to get sober but alcoholism is a devious ass disease. I’ve met so many guys that come into recovery programs after a bad incident and they are as broken as A person can be. Seen so many get that 30 day chip then relapse. Then get it again and relapse. I’ve watched many determined, good people lose to this disease and it sucks because you root so hard for them.
Seeing this news today that it was alcoholism that took his life really bums me out. Wether I knew the guy or not he was part of a this community that I have such a weird relationship with and it hurts to see someone gone from a disease that I have.
When you have this disease it’s a constant anvil hanging over your head that can drop and kill you or catastrophically effect the rest of your life anytime regardless of how much time you have sober.
RIP Arez. Im glad your pain and fight is over and I’m sure you are in a better place today than all of us. You’re immortalized forever by the people on here that knew you best as well as those of us who got our laughs off your hilarious posts.

Im so sorry for your loss. I think I echo the thoughts of everyone here when I say TYM is hurting losing our fellow community member, but its good knowing he had an amazing friend like you while he was still around.
