I would give shoutouts to the CommonWealth. That tournament came out of nowhere, was heavily hyped, delivered huge promises, and from what I gather, everyone was paid and people who went had nothing but great things to say.
For a tournament that was primarily based on MK and the first of its kind, I was pleasantly surprised. I heard the stream was good and also heard it was bad, but at the actual tournament, it was great. Definitely can't wait to go again if they have it next year.

I think everything for MKX was great, I did see some twitter drama though regarding the pot bonus not being awarded for GGXRD for low entrants and the fact that was not posted on their website, or anywhere except a Facebook page.

It was a good stream quality wise (resolution and not going down all the time), but if I remember correctly there were some terrible decisions for which matches would be streamed (I understand that this can be difficult with other things to worry about) and the infamous interviews. Those would be the only two points of constructive criticism from a viewers perspective. Certainly not enough to warrant it a title of "bad stream". Especially compared to some other events.

Their were apparently alot of problems with the XRD tournament but I never heard specifics

Why was I at the majority of these blowup tournaments...?

I'd like to add NCR 2013, where:
1. They refused to run Injustice even though it could have been the first Injustice major. (I ran a side tournament in pboard's hotel room)
2. They ran everything in two rooms with no communication. I got DQd from SF4 while playing MK9, and Chris G got DQd from MK9 while playing SF4.
3. It was run absolutely terribly in every way.
4. None of the TOs knew when top 8 was on Sunday, and when we asked at the main info desk they said "well why don't you check our website?" even though it wasn't on their website.

Sure they didn't literally rip off the cash pots, but I felt more ripped off at NCR than I did at Revelations by a long shot...

LOL, Revalations screwed the FGC over too? The side Gears event there never got paid out either, but I figured it was just our scene that was screwed since it was run by a different guy, and the FGC set up looked pretty legit in comparison.
Oh God, MLG lol. Hey, you guys can't play and we offer no chairs. But you can't leave or you get DQ'd. Good times.
I was told at Meadowlands '09, that if I left the station to go to the bathroom after just finishing a match, and even though their rules gave at least 5 minutes between matches, that my team would forfeit a game in our next match.

Throughout the circuit, they slowly started to remove all the seating near our main stages with each event and were also told that sitting on the ground was prohibited as it was a fire hazard. By Nationals we had no seating, and still weren't allowed to sit on the ground.

If you weren't a top placing player they'd treat you like shit. Not sure if the Pro-lounge was still around by the time MK9 was put in the circuit, but that was literally the only convenient place to get water at any event without having to pay $5 dollars a bottle. They also had free gourmet-ish food in there meanwhile, everyone outside was stuck with Dr Pepper and Doritos. There's a reason why MLG is on death's door and ESL is becoming the prominent name in competitive gaming, at least in NA.

For the record, basically the Revelations people "contracted" a bunch of known TOs to actually run all the individual tournaments, then didn't pay them either. Same with the streams.

Mostly correct and agreeable list.

I will say about VXG I believe all players got 1/3 of their payout in cash on the spot. So even though I still didn't get $2k from them, I did walk away with $1k in pocket which was the highest prize pool in 2013 for MK9 still; prize pools were so low 2 years ago with no esports! Also, I found everything not related to the tournament to be awesome, it was actually a great vacation. I did like First Attack this year more though, so if someone is actually looking to go to the Caribbean and a tournament at the same time then go to FA in Puerto Rico, I highly recommend it.

One last thing, the first person that comes to mind for that list of reliable TOs is Vandy, the guy who runs KIT. Started humbly and his signature major has been growing steadily and organically for a few years now. Before it has been on the cusp of turning into a real big major, and I predict this year to be the real breakout for KIT as a huge major.
Wow, thanks man. That means a lot.

A sponsor layed that down at the last second and no budget to change. What people don't know is I offered to award it out of pocket and the winner turned it down. It was odd. And wouldn't of been a big deal if he wasn't from a scene that hated me haha.

Ze Dingo

D4->F2 = unblockable. Ice Clone = unpunishable.
Meanwhile in the Indian FGC, when a tournament happens:

A) Game isn't patched up to date.
B) Unlockable characters aren't unlocked.
C) Punctuality? What's that?

Atleast we get paid what we're promised.

So far...
