Fundamentals Fundamentals Fundamentals. Chris G plays a lot of games (He made top 8 in 5 games this weekend and top 3 in three so far), and he does well in the ones he doesn't play too often seemingly purely on fundamentals. He understands reptile decently, though he clearly doesn't know certain matchups (such as Sektor). But you can go far on fundamentals.

I wish he'd take this game as seriously as he used to (he used to go to VSM every now and then), but well....5 different games.

Foreverking vs. Tom Brady was insane. The reads that he made were inhumane, especially after composing himself after what FK did when he took the first round. I thought he lost. Don't play with your food.

Also congrats to Ikizzle, MKlegend (only 15!), dizzy, 16 bit, and digi. Digi, you da man for using jade. That's the first top 8 round win I've seen with jade, much respect!

I was playing MKLegend in casuals before the tournament, he told me he only plays online and had never played a person IRL. Then he bodied me like 20 times in a row and I felt like a huge scrub. I remember him saying something like, "wow this feels a lot easier than online" lol

He was too frustrated with the pauses and the glitches causing his inputs to not come out.

Chris G is well....seemingly easily mentally guardbroken (happened also in SFxT), resulting in suboptimal play or just giving up. He won Marvel today (and got 2nd in MK and KOF, 3rd in SFxT), so hopefully he'll fix it. It's really not cool for tournaments even if it's understandable that he takes things hard.

I'm not sure, he did the exact same thing in KOF when he went against Bala. In that match he felt he wasn't going to win (or was just trollin since it's not his main game) and actually did random select.

Another reason was the constant pause issue that kept happening as well.

He is good in a lot of games, but he isn't "BEST" in any of them imo.

That shit in KOF was ridiculous, for instance.

Great stuff, and respect to Brady on a good performance, just going to show he should have always stuck with this character.

Although I still have to say sometimes I want to see him follow through with full combo damage. There is even a point in his match with forever king where he could have ended the round and he still cut the combo short. Uhh wtf? Come on tom you can't love the time out that much, it would not have cost you any meter there was a slight possibility it could have cost you the game. (and just noticed he did it again in the final round after a F+4 Ice blast vs MKLEGEND which would not have ended it but damn close. And this almost definitely cost him the game)

That aside, it seems like he has corrected my criticism regarding the random slide's. It's a vital tool in SZ's arsenal and critical it's used correctly and Tom just showed how it's done. Awesome stuff. If this community forgot so much about the matcup's and just focused on the characters they like the competition would be at a much higher level. Why do you think the Japanese are so good?

Also gratz to Ikizzle on the ultimate win. Sektor is a beast...

Thanks for all the props. In terms of the grand finals, the venue was having electrical issues all weekend. Tvs randomly shutting off and controllers acting up and not registering. I was literally doing moves and dropping half my combos because the buttons were not even registering. Random buttons were also getting pressed. Their was one time where Chris g was smacking his stick and his character was standing still. That was the last straw and he just gave up. Sucks a lot.

It also wasn't the fault of the komplete edition because this happened in other games on the main stage as well.

ChrisG's reptile is still one of the best, its just that the domincians, reo etc. became better at a particular point into the game. I have no idea why he uses noob, but if he actually plays his reptile more seriously I would think he could place top 8 conistently.
