Lol...I just can't help but think you assume an armored wall bounce is the end all/ be all for ALL situations at this distance. No. Sometimes you have to be crafty and throw different shit out there. In the heat of battle...yeah. I'm not saying this is the "go to tech"...but you have to be versatile...and it proves that the Tiara throw is FAR from useless.
I think the strength of the tiara throw is actually the ability to lead into an airdash mixup.
As for the usefulness of that tech i'd need to look at the frame data but I'd suspect that the bounce will be the better option most of the time. It punishes the exact same read and is much, much safer. Mixup is important but theres no point doing a move that doesn't have any advantage over another in a certain situation.

Just my thoughts on MB Tiara...
It definitely does seem to have its use. As Momentum said, MB ground/wall bounce is a safe option. But I do like that you're able to easily get into a normal combo string after the MB Tiara. Would be a quick way to combo someone dashing towards you.

I still wish that a MB Dive Punch could extend combos. So flashy @_@

I'd also really like to see that combo
from lasso: B+11~shield stance~meter burn shield toss, 11~lasso stance~lasso spin, 23, B+3, Jumping 3, 23~lasso grab - should be around 50%

As if in the heat of battle everything is so planned out. I'm all about flare and a creative mind set. YOU may think the MB Tiara is useless...YEAH...tell that to the kid who is kicking everyone's ass with WW...linear thinking never travels the distance.

Well it's planned out in the sense that I know not to use it at that distance because there's a better option. Also i'm sure that theres SOME use for it and i'm glad you're exploring it but i personally don't think that's it

That's fine...your opinion certainly wont deter me from exploring a character that is like 4 days old.

Damn right. I'm just offering my constructive criticism.. I'm not trying to be a prick.
I'm actually really glad that you brought it up because now I've a better understanding of the range where tiara is most effective.

I know. I'm not trying to be a prick either...but when people start saying "OH WAIT....this is MUCH smarter to do in a match..." typically don't win. As I said in the video...if you notice they are just far enough out of strike range...why not throw it out? It has great range and if you plan it correctly, it will catch most people off guard...PLUS you can combo from it. I dunno...I just simply don't think it's garbage...

Well for the same reason that a kabal wouldn't do an IAGB after a F32ndc... 2ndc is a better option in almost every way

that was in response to "why not throw it out". As i said, i think the move has a good use but there are much better options at that distance that do everything that tiara does but safer

Actually, never mind. Forgot about physical parries. So if they have a physical parry i should be more inclined to use the tiara over the bounce

So IMO we are going to have to start burning meter to convert Sword Mode into serious damage, but you get SERIOUS damage.

Here is an example of a 1 bar 50% combo off of sword mode 22:


For those who don't know, switching stances can be cancelled with any special move, so you do standing 2 xx 4 xx DB3.

EDIT: I SHOULD PROBABLY PUT NOTATIONS MAYBE.

Nice man! And I'm all for finding more ways to burn meter. Honestly, I've found myself wasting meter far too often because I don't use it enough. Either I have 2-3 bars left at the end of a match, or I'm stuck on 4 bars for too long, etc.

Note: The reason I waste meter is because I just don't use it when I have it, which I contribute to me not being used to the placement of the meter button on my arcade stick yet (I'd much rather meter button be top right than bottom right on my 6 button layout, as I shortcut 1+2 for stage interaction anyway). My ring finger isn't doing much of anything at the moment, so I may look into changing the layout when the game actually releases. Anyone else having this issue on stick?

Also guys, I have what I think is think is a guaranteed OTG 50/50 with her Dive. Basically it OTGs and I believe you can land behind them.

First I go in front of them, then behind them, then I use meter burn which I believe can be followed up.



I believe that this works off of most knockdowns. I can get it to work off of the end of BnBs by omitting the Lasso and ending with just B113 > Dive Kick OTG, but that might not work against real humans who tech roll.

Let me know what you think.

well you can meter burn with 1+2+3 which is random as hell but maybe that feels more comfortable for you?
Had no idea you could 1+2+3 for meter burn. I tried it out & that's exactly what I needed lol. It's not ideal, but it's easier than me having to switch my hand position to press the meter button. Thanks!

I'll be in the lab with the sword and shield stance tonight. I think we have pretty much covered the whip potential, at least in the demo build. I already see so much rush down and corner potential with the sword and shield.

I think it should also be noted that "2,2" is 24 start-up, 26 on recovery, 10 on hit, 0 on block, and damage is 4.75, where as "2" has 16 start-up, 18 recovery, 18 on hit, 8 on block, and damage is 5. Just something to think about.

Well the 22 string starts with 2 so they both have the same startup haha. It's just listing the startup of the 2nd hit in the string.

Also I'm not sure that 2 xx Trait xx Spin works from all ranges, plus I'm not sure how hit confirmable it is?

you can easily get over 50% in the corner with sword stance only for 1 meter, this is off her high, low mixups as well
for example : back 2, 3, MB shield throw -> 1, 1, back 1 -> 1, 1, back 1 -> etc
forward 3 -> back 1 -> 1, 1, back 1 -> 1, 1, back 1 -> 1, 1, back 1 -> etc
