I've yet to come across a NW that gets by it well enough...but if he does, it sucks unless you can get a pushblock, which you should have a lot of meter for.

I've known this was coming since UFGT. It ultimately makes the MB lanterns might vortex useless now because wakeups will beat all of GLs options. And its worthless to waste a bar on MB Lanterns might just to bait a wakeup attack when you can do the same thing for no meter.Seems the patch's biggest change is the OTG fix. I'm sad to see it go, but since it was a universal problem (That allowed Flash, for instance, to ignore wakeups and leave himself at +11 on a knockdown), I'm not totally against the idea of it being removed.I've known this was coming since UFGT. His Oki game off of the hard knockdown you get from ending combos with lanterns might is still really good. But losing his OTG hurts him. There's nothing to make up for the fact that opponents had to respect B1 after MB LM. That was huge. Good thing I was getting bored of the game anyway.

They want to get rid of all the dirt in the game and then it all backfires and we end up losing our dirt to.(Not saying you Tay, im just talking in general) I've never complained about anyone elses dirt, not batmans, not killer frosts, nobody. I agree with you Rob, its kind of ridiculous, that rest was a pretty large part of his game. It actually gave him a comeback factor, but now since that is gone I feel like they are going to do to him what they did to subzero all over again. I didnt even know he use to have frame advantage off of 223, having that would have benefited him immensely. I went through this same shit with Subzero, they took him a piece at a time until he was a shell of his former self.
They have already nerfed Lantern 3 times. They took his advantage off of 2,2,3 away. They nerfed his already low damage output, and now this, they've taken his OTG.And while he's still a solid character(for now) Im not sticking around to watch them do to Lantern what they did to Subzero. Once is enough.

PS. Normals cancelling into specials was originally a glitch in Street fighter. It wasn't intended to be there. Now its a staple of fighting games the world over. Kudos to capcom for recognizing a good thing when they see it.

Come on bro, its not the same and you know it. It is 10 times more of a gamble then it was before. MB LM isn't a hard knockdown so besides wakeups they can backdash, techroll, etc etc. You know all that shit that they were scared to do before because B1 blew it all up. Not anymore. You might get away with it once or twice, but you wont be able to abuse it like before. To much of a gamble for a character who's meter is his life.I disagree, the mix up off EX lift combo ender is still worth it.
You don't always have to dash under, you can delay the dash and hit them with a frontside f3 or b1 so you can still play dirty. this means they can't commit to mashing wake ups on one side or the other
I don't know, I don't see it as a big deal. 99% of the time after an EX lift ender I would do dash under f3 which always got beat by wake up attacks if they did one. I'm also 99% sure that they can't roll away in time after EX lift so they have to guess which side and whether I'm going to do b1/f3 or gamble on a wake up that's likely unsafe. He can get the same setup after a hard knockdown with and early jump in 3, along with all the other options after a hard knockdown that don't require him to risk his meter for potentially nothing.
Your the best GL I've played KT, but I feel your trying to rationalize a serious nerf.

I have not heard about that, and I do agree with you to a point, delaying that dash under as a mix up is an option but with the fact that b1 does not OTG anymore, makes it a very...questionable risk, but it isnt completely gone. Also, GL's new optimized bnb's definitely alleviate some of his reliance on meter. getting 12% more out of a 1 bar combo is a big deal
