Green Lantern BnBs and Strategies

Doubt there will be a situation for this but I accidently improvised mid match with someone when they rushed my lantern's might to come punish me for pressing the wrong button.
With trait, f3, j2, b23, oa rocket mb, b23, lantern might, lantern might mb, walk forward 223, lantern might. Its fairly simple if the situation arises and does 50%. Doubt you will ever need it but at least it I managed to avoid giving another jump 3 variation so it could happen. Also a variant of the combo he gave is
J3, b23, OR mb, b23, LM mb, b3, 223, LM 52% may be easier for you.
 
What's up fellow GLs? I'm sorry for the break in info postings, I'm currently working on some MU strategies as well as different vortex setups. However for the vortex part I may just be linking the threads that are already talking about it. ( Bibulus has started one, everyone check it out). As far as General Strategies I'll fill that out really soon since it's pretty straight forward and will be more for players who are picking up GL and need some beginner pointers.

There are 2 things I thought about after this weekend that are gonna lead to more awesome:

Does GL have links? Basically where you get enough hitstun to hit another move without a special cancel. Like on paper you should be able to link d+1 into all sorts of stuff, but I can't seem to make it combo in game. This will allow for better hit confirms, because something like d+1xxLift is the ideal max damage, but you can't hit confirm that for shit so it's only really applicable in a punish situation. If you could do like d+1, 223 and it would combo on hit you would create a window where you can get poked out with 9 frame or faster moves on near perfect input timing and you can get max damage 100% from seeing the poke hit.



2xxOR MB early in combos to MB where the damage scales more favorably.

IE b13xx4xxlift 2xxOR MB 223xxlift does 34% instead of 33% from the combo using 223xxlift MB after the trait bounce. This also allows you to go into resets and get that +10%

That would be awesome if D1 could link into a string like 223 or B1. I'll have to play around and see what I can come up with if anything.

And yes OR MB is the best bet for max damage. Best one bar BnB w/ Trait on the list is 223, OR MB, B13, Trait, LM, 223, LM

unfortunately no, there are no links in the NRS engine the way they appear in other FG's. The general rule is that normals cannot combo into one another unless they are part of a string.

There are 2 exceptions I know of, batman's trait bats cause "real" hit stun, and I believe black adam has a combo where you can do b2, trait cancel, b2 and it will combo but that may have been patched out.

Black Adam's trait allows him to do links on activation, so you can do stuff like B2, T, 112

223 TS is the gimmick.

And the timing isn't impossible online. Just keep working on it in PM.

GL has been my main since I first glimpsed his potential, problem is lately i feel like his mix up is really lacking. Stop me if im wrong but is his main tool set for mix up b13, b1-to b1 again for low mix-up, and f3 for fast overhead.

Yeah...that's pretty much it. And honestly, as of late, it seems the game is evolving to deal with GL alot better. I'm playing against alot more players that know how to not only defend against GL, but deal with everything he has. I'm hoping I, or some other GLs, can find some new and useful tech to make GL dangerous again.

the window is tight but just needs some practice.

further, I have a new contribution to the traited up F+3 section. This is a situation I find myself in a lot.

F+3, ji3, 12~OR (mb), B+23~LM, B+13~LM = 48% one bar!

Tamer, meterless version:

F+3, ji3, 123~LM, 223~LM = 40% no meter.

If any of you have read some of the other threads, a lot of people have found a way to block b1 and then poke punish the 2/3 follow up. With the idea that our main footsies b1-2/3 now being countered; any opinions on new tech to counter the communities evolution.

Well there's b1 then b1 again. There's b1 MG.

Nothing really beyond that as of right now sadly.

And only b1 2 can be poked out of. B1 3 can be parried or dashed out of but not poked.
